About UCP Roda Untuk Kemanusiaan (UCPRUK): Established in 2009 with the support of UCP Wheels for Humanity and the United States Agency for International Development, UCPRUK is the first organization of its kind in Indonesia to provide appropriately fitted wheelchairs for children and adults, capacity-building training for local wheelchair practitioners, and empowerment and advocacy programs for the disabled population of Indonesia.  A globally recognized model, UCPRUK supports the growth of local infrastructure to manufacture various models of wheelchairs appropriate for the needs of the population while developing a new skilled profession of wheelchair practitioners across the country. Position Description: Through this exciting, full-time opportunity, the Development Coordinator will be an integral part of the UCPRUK team, promoting the sustainability and growth of the organization.  The Development Coordinator will be responsible for creating and executing a coordinated and strategic fundraising effort, the main thrust of which will be events and the launch of a major gifts program.  The Development Coordinator will also support the identification and cultivation of local institutional funders. Current development activities at UCPRUK are sporadic, yet have nonetheless been very fruitful, so there is great opportunity for the right candidate to achieve success.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager who is organized, dynamic, flexible, and adept at developing meaningful relationships with a diverse array of individuals.  This position will report to the Deputy Director of UCPRUK, and will receive support in the areas of strategy creation and planning from the leadership team at UPCRUK’s parent organization, US-based UCP Wheels for Humanity (www.ucpwfh.org).
 
Primary Job Duties
o   The primary goal of this individual will be to develop and execute an effective roadmap to create a consistent stream of revenue for UCPRUK.
o   S/he will place a heavy emphasis on developing a signature annual event for the organization, and in creating a major gifts program via the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual donors.
o   S/he will also support the identification and cultivation of relationships with local institutional funders, such as Foundations and foreign government ministries.
o   S/he will work closely with the UCPRUK Deputy Director, the leadership team at UCP Wheels for Humanity, and other key volunteer leaders to raise the profile of the organization in the community and implement a successful fundraising program.
o   The successful candidate will bring an enthusiasm and passion for the mission and work of UCPRUK and embody the gravitas, credibility and persuasiveness necessary to convince others to support the organization.
 
Additional Job Duties
o   Develop processes and systems for donor cultivation and stewardship (i.e. gift comes in, thank you, phone call, next steps, etc.)
o   Manage prospect research, gift administration, records management and the creation of related marketing materials.
o   Track explicit initiatives and oversee reports and correspondence to donors as necessary.
o   Cultivate current and potential individual donors.
o   Develop content for general communications and public relations activities as needed.
o   Other duties as assigned.
 
NECESSARY SKILLS / Qualifications
o   University Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of previous development or event planning experience required.
  • Fluent Indonesian and English speaker required.
  • Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape of Indonesia preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to set and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Highly energetic, hands-on, with a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one’s work; an honest, positive self-starter.
  • Demonstrated record as a successful team player, including the ability to develop and maintain a goal-oriented, positive attitude throughout the organization.  
o   Previous experience with disability rights or mobility access programs, a plus.
 
Hours: This is full-time, non-exempt position based at UCPRUK’s Office in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Office hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, but schedule may vary.
