Senior Advisor



Responsibilities:

§  Identification and engagement of target groups for capacity development with up-scaling potential, in particular for private sector actors (focus industry, energy), staff across the work area’s counterparts (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources), KADIN Indonesia and other relevant institutions/associations

§  Follow-up of existing Development Partnerships and initiation, development, and implementation of new DPPs related to energy efficiency and/ or renewable energies in industry, power, land-based sectors

§  Scoping, defining, and aligning the activities of international and national consultants to develop new and/ or customize existing tools and approaches to climate change mitigation mechanisms, suitable for national and local conditions and contexts

§  Managing and contributing to capacity development activities including awareness raising, trainings and workshops on climate change mitigation issues in the Indonesian industry/ private sector context

§  Cooperating with other work areas within PAKLIM, GIZ Indonesia, other donors, and any other relevant organisations in order to develop and integrate lessons learned into development of effective capacity development tools and concepts

§  Steering facilitation processes (e.g. working groups on climate change agreements between the Ministry of Industry and industrial companies, policy dialogues together with relevant industry associations)

§  Elaboration of lessons learned, participation in reflection, contribution to regular monitoring and reporting (to the program’s management, for the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development - BMZ)



Qualifications and skills

·         Master Degree or equivalent work experience in the field of Political Science, International Business, Engineering or Environmental Management

·         Language skills: excellent spoken and written Indonesian and English

·         Excellent strategic thinking and business development skills

·         Proficient computer skills

Professional experience

·         At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, incl. international work experience and project management in the areas of policy advice/ advocacy related to GHG mitigation, industrial mitigation measures, environmental protection

·         Rich experiences and knowledge on working with Government Agencies and Private Sector Partners

·         Networks into both public and private sectors in Indonesia regarding environment/ energy/ climate change issues

·         Experience in developing and facilitating capacity development programs, tools and training modules, ideally linked to the climate change topic



Other qualifications and skills

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and ability to utilize appropriate language/ argumentation for different types of stakeholders, i.e. private sector representatives, public partners, donors, NGOs, etc.

·         Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently while also having the skills and interests to work effectively within teams and networks

·         Demonstrated ability to do conceptual work, critical thinking, successfully implement concepts, and be able to monitor, adjust, and report on results achieved
