BACKGROUND
Video documentation started to become an effective tool for advocacy, particularly in this online and multimedia era, similar trend happens in the marketing community through a video marketing. Video could effectively help the audience to easy understand messages.
Video has the potential to transmit large amounts of information, making every detail critical. Hence, it’s importance having a skill to make an audio-visual documentation. The basic audio-visual documentation mastering, is very useful for filing, advocacy, or even to turn the audio-visual documentation or publication into something more impactful.
MSI SIAP 1 has been working with some local NGOs and has deep concern to improve quality of their advocacy skill. In this regard, SIAP 1 will hire 2 video documentary consultants: 1 story maker consultant, and 1 cameraman and video editor consultant. The consultants will work to develop training module and training material on video making for NGO activits, and also deliver the training on video making to SIAP 1 NGO partners.
OBJECTIVE
Skill of SIAP 1 NGO activist on making video documentary for their advocacy works are improved.
SCOPE OF WORKS
Each consultants work in allocated time as follows:
1. 3 days for:
· Assessment on level of understanding and skill of the potential training participants on video documentary making through questionaire and/or interview.
· Brainstorming with SIAP 1 to determine the expected output of the training.
2. 8 days for:
· Drafting training module in the form of training materials book and slide ppt. The training module at least covers: a) introduction to video documentary for advocacy, b) data collection, c) story making, d) video shooting technique, and e) video editing. The training design should consist of in-class and video making exercise with total no more than 5 days training.
· Presenting the draft of training module to SIAP 1.
3. 2 days for :
· Revising the draft based on the feedback received during the presentation
· Drafting power point presentations for training
4. 5 days for :
ñ Deliver video documentary training to NGO activities.
5. 2 days for:
ñ Write training report and recommenddation
DELIVERABLES
ñ First draft of video training module in hardcopy for one set.
ñ Final draft of video training module in hardcopy for one set, presentation slides in the form of handouts hardcopy (2 slides per sheet) for one set, and softcopy of journalism training module as well as presentation slides recorded in one CD-R
ñ Training Delivery
ñ Training report including the analysis of the effectiveness of the module as well as recommendations on optimizing the use of the training module
CONSULTANT’S REQUIREMENT
The candidate must meet the following requirements:
ñ Individual consultant
ñ Having the ability to provide services as consultant
ñ Having at least 5 years experience in video documentary making, familiar with advocacy works is an advantage.
ñ Experience training others in the usage of video
ñ Having a good performance, and not being black-listed in any state agencies or state owned companies
ñ Not in the supervision of the court, not in a bankrupt condition, and/or not serving criminal sentences
ñ Not provide false statements about their competencies and professional skills.
