BACKGROUND
CARE
International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large
scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations,
transitional activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a range of
development initiatives in such areas as water and sanitation, health and
enterprise &economic development.
CII is currently implementing a 3-year
agricultural value chain strengthening that is aimed to improve the economic
resilience of small holders through integrated capacity building for value
chain stakeholders in Kupang and its surrounding area. The project is named
ADVANCE (Adding Value on Community Economy Activity) Project, which been
implementing any activities to enhance the small scale pig farming in the
area of knowledge, attitude, practice and skills of pig farming issues. CII
through ADVANCE project has an objective to give direct benefit to 300 farmer
households and for about 1500 indirect beneficiaries in 5 communities of
Kupang District and 1 community of Kupang Municipality, which is the direct
beneficiaries is formed into 5 groups.
To achieve the objectives, ADVANCE
project provide any inputs in terms of capacity building of the direct
beneficiaries through technical trainings of pig farming care management,
that consist of housing, feeding, health control and reproduction aspects, by
implementing a peer education strategy. Regarding the strategy
implementation, ADVANCE project facilitate the availability of cadre
sat the group level specializing in each aspect of the pig farming care
management, and an appropriate module is needed.
An
appropriate module means that the module is applicable and consumable for the
targeted beneficiaries, which is should be relevant with the local context
and issues. So the compilation of the module will involve related
stakeholders of
government, academia, practitioner/entrepreneurs, and community members themselves. In
order to an effective objective achievement of the workshop, ADVANCE project
will need a group of facilitator in the discussion process and one of them
will be responsible to accomplish the module compilation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND
TASKS

Preparation pre-workshop (materials,
rundown & methodology).

Facilitate
workshop gathering input from
stakeholders.
·
Develop
pig farming modules consist of:

· Facilitate
training of the pig farming module to potential
participants (25 participants: ADVANCE Team, government & community
representative).
·
Facilitate
Training of Trainer.
DELIVERABLE
·
Workshop
to gather input from stakeholders for developing pig farming modules.
· Training on the developed modules to potential participants (25
participants: ADVANCE Team, government & community representative).
·
Training
of Trainer.
·
A
set documents as follow:
SERVICE PERIOD
·
26
(twenty-six) days with the following composition:
·
5 days for preparation (draft of module, activities schedule,
logistics and participants).
·
3 days
for workshop (gathering input from stakeholders,
internal and external).
·
10 days for development of training modules and training
delivery guidance.
·
2 days training on the developed materials from facilitator to
government, ADVANCE Team and Cadre.
·
3 days for module & training guidance revision/finalization.
·
2 days training of trainers on how to deliver the training.
·
1 day pilot test (training to selected group of farmers
facilitated by new trainers).
·
Total is 26 working days (deadline: by end of September 2014).

QUALIFICATIONS
·
Knowledge
of community development, especially in agriculture and animal husbandry
sector.
·
Extensive
networking with local and international NGOs, government agencies and private
sectors that are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry sector.
·
Experience
in facilitating training of regional and national scale.
