Currently we are looking for the best candidates to fulfill the
following positions:
USBI (The Sampoerna University) has been running a three-year SMART LAB project funded by USAID. The SMART Lab project
aims to establish four models of Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) senior
secondary schools and nest them as nodes in larger linked networks of partner
schools working to improve their own STEM programming. It also aims to train
500 STEM teachers over the next three years who are able to prepare and inspire
10,000 students through individual and group experiences outside the classroom,
and create a dynamic networks of partners and system engaged in a spectrum of
knowledge discovery and transfer, development of sustainable feedback loops
that advance the STEM agenda, and improve educator STEM literacy.
USBI (The Sampoerna
University) is currently looking for a high-caliber individual to fill the
position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with the following
details:

Responsibilities
|
o
Provide direct
support to USAID SMART Lab PMO to enable them to provide credible
information on the achievements and lessons from their activities. This
will include:
· providing input and technical support on progress and evaluation reports; · Analyzing results for individual project events; and · communicating key M&E concepts required to deliver an acceptable level of quality for all reports.
o
Collect and
analyze overall project information according to the M & E
implementation plan, and as required by the SMART Lab
Performance Monitoring Plan.
o
Capture lessons
learned at various levels across the program (synthesised from M&E
activities such as training evaluations, case studies/best practices,
annual reviews etc) and ensure that these are appropriately documented,
analysed and utilised to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project
management.
o
Develop
communication products (including web page, newsletter, fact sheet etc.) in
coordination with the Programme Specialist to communicate M&E results to
a wide range of stakeholders.
o
Monitor SMART
Lab’s website (Forum) and Facebook Fan Page as integral part of monitoring and
evaluation of the program.

Qualifications
|
o
Bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to monitoring and evaluation
and/or programme management. Master’s degree would be an advantage;
o
Experience in writing project monitoring and evaluation
reports/publications or involving in the publications;
o
Exposure to key evaluation concepts via a professional development
training course would be desirable;
o
Exposure to adult learning methods and mentoring concepts would also
be advantageous.
o
At least 5 years experience working with monitoring and evaluation
systems for aid funded programmes in a development institution or government
setting. This need not be a lead position, but participating in project
design and the collection, analysis, and communication of information.
o
Experience working within education, with teachers, or education
projects.
o
Demonstrated experience with assessing learning for adults and/or
students;
o
Demonstrated experience in breaking down and communicating complex
concepts to a range of stakeholders in multi-cultural settings;
o
Demonstrated experience responding to and communicating evaluation or
research findings;
o
A high level of capacity in written and spoken English and in report
writing, with experience conducting training or presentations and developing
communication products in English;
o
Demonstrated experience in the storage and management of data and
information using computer software such as MS Excel, MS Access, SPSS, etc.;
o
Experience in writing project monitoring and evaluation
reports/publications or involving in the publications.
o
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of development projects. This
is required to ensure that the M&E Specialist is sensitive to the
difficulties of implementing development projects in complex settings;
o
Experience in analysing primary and secondary data would be an
advantage;
o
Experience with web based content management system.
