Background:
The
Australia Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through
Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA) is an ambitious new
rural development program which aims to contribute to a 30%, or more,
increase in net incomes for 1,000,000 poor rural female and male
farmers, 300,000 of which will be reached by June 2017.
The Position
Reporting
to the Head of Business Enabling Environment, you will ensure the
buy-in from the local and provincial governments in your province;
manage the relationship of our program with all public stakeholders; understand
and support the implementation of all program interventions in West
Papua; collaborate with the sector teams to ensure a successful
implementation of their strategies; support the results measurement team
in quantitative and qualitative data collection; and contribute to
strategy development and adjustment.
To perform this role, you should have several of the following qualifications:
· a background in economics, public law, public administration, or political science;
· a good understanding of area competitiveness and economics and the drivers of change;
· a good understanding of the political economy in West Papua;
· experience working with local government, preferably in West Papua;
· existing network among public and private stakeholders in West Papua;
· willingness to learn from mistakes and ability to think ‘out-of-the-box’;
· willingness to live in West Papua;
· fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
· Direct experience in development is not required.
