Overview of
position(s): DAI is currently looking for qualified candidates for an
anticipated youth workforce development program. Specifically, DAI is
interested in candidates with demonstrated experience in and technical
understanding of the following areas:
- Youth employment and workforce development, inclusive of employment placement and business development/entrepreneurship;
- Youth development and community engagement strategies, including the usage of ICT and social media;
- Peer-to-peer learning and mentoring;
- Private sector engagement and partnership development as it relates to youth and women employment and job placement;
- Engagement with the private sector to facilitate internship and apprenticeship programs;
- Access to finance for unemployed or under-employed youth (including women) interested in starting a micro-business;
- Design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of workforce development programs for youth;
- Institutional capacity building of training institutions related to youth workforce development;
- Indonesia workforce development organizational culture, structure, policies, programs and operations;
- Monitoring and evaluation;
- Communications, public awareness raising, and advocacy;
- Project management experience for donor-funded programs;
- Knowledge of the technical/vocational education training sector, system, and curricula.
Qualifications:
Senior Level
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working with youth in secondary education, economic development, workforce development, higher education, or other related sector;
- At least 7 years of experience working on donor-funded development programs;
- Experience with private businesses and/or social responsibility activities;
- Well versed in all aspects of youth employment challenges and workforce development strategies, including the capability to implement business-led partnerships in youth employment;
- Experience working in Indonesia and demonstrated familiarity with and understanding of the unique constraints and opportunities it presents for youth and livelihoods development and economic growth ;
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member to reach targets;
- Ability to interact effectively at both upper level (i.e. ministry officials) and lower levels (community leaders and farmers);
- Graduate degree or its international equivalent in business, public administration or a field related to international/human development is required;
- Willing to relocate if necessary.
