Australia Indonesia Partnership for Health Systems Strengthening (AIPHSS)
AIPHSS Program is a partnership program between the Government of Australia and the Government of Indonesia focusing on strengthening of health financing systems & capacity building of health human resources in order to improve access to and quality of basic health services. AIPHSS Program is managed directly by the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Health (MoH) at National level and through Provincial/District Health Offices at sub national level.
Technical Director
Full-time 12 months contract
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia
The Position
The Technical Director will provide technical leadership and strategic management to the AIPHSS program, ensuring it is aligned with the MoH policy and strategic direction. The Technical Director will build positive working relationships with senior executives in the MoH and proactively seek ways to ensure the AIPHSS achieves sustainable health policy and health systems strengthening outcomes, by providing effective solutions to the development of technical quality control and knowledge management processes.
Working closely with stakeholders at both the national and sub-national level, The Technical Director will have over sight and support the various implementation pilots and operational research activities by ensuring close working relationships are established and facilitated, and by providing high level technical support across all activities.
The Person
The ideal candidate for this senior leadership position will have:
· At least 15 years of experience in the Indonesian health sector with an in-depth knowledge of health policies, governance and institutional arrangements for health
· Extensive knowledge of managing health systems strengthening in the international and Indonesian context, ideally having worked with and within the MoH
· Senior experience managing the health policy program in the MoH, and in particular an understanding of policy process and uptake.
· Prior experience working in a senior role with DFAT or other international development partners.
