I. INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND
Home fortification with micronutrient powders (MNP)
has proved to be efficacious and effective in reducing the prevalence of iron
deficiency anaemia in young children. The Indonesian Ministry of Health
initiated the national MNP program for children age 6 to 59 months and
developed a local MNP, “Taburia”. Numerous studies have demonstrated MNP to be
efficacious. However, cultural practices, economic factors, food availability
and infant and young child feeding practices can impact acceptability and
utilization of MNP, which can affect the effectiveness of an intervention in a
specific country. The Indonesian Ministry of Health (MOH) has asked The Global
Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to adapt behavior change communication
(BCC) key messages and materials (e.g. job aids and training module for health
care providers, caregiver education materials, packaging design for MNP
product) that will promote appropriate consumption of MNP in the context of
Indonesia.
II. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procurement is to hire the
services of a contractor to adapt a global toolkit of BCC messages and
materials to promote delivery of a micronutrient powder (MNP) branded “Taburia”
through Ministry of Health services. The toolkit includes: improved packaging
design for Taburia; training modules for health workers, job aids for health
workers and other BCC materials. GAIN will provide the global toolkit to the
contractor.
III. SCOPE OF WORK & DELIVERABLES
The selected contractor will be responsible for
executing creative development for the following products in the table below. Contractors
are encouraged to suggest alternative products in keeping with the creative
brief but must price the products requested as well.
