Children currently works in eleven provinces, has staff of
approximately 190 local professionals, and programming in Child
Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction,
and Humanitarian Response. Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking
to fill the following position:
Senior Project Officer will be responsible for overall project
management and implementation of all activities in target schools,
maintain good relationship with local government and other stakeholders
in West Sumba, NTT district. S/he will be responsible
for the financial, programmatic implementation and monitoring of all
project activities, and the development of the project work plan. Under
direction of Senior Manager Sponsorship, s/he will ensure that all
programmatic activities included in the implementation
plan are implemented and project outcomes are assessed and contribute
to national and global Save the Children School Health and Nutrition
framework.

SENIOR PROJECT OFFICER
1 position, based in Sumba
Reports to: Senior Manager Sponsorship
Dimensions: Senior Project Officer will be in charge of management and implementation of all programmatic activities under “clean and healthy start school” program.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Lead on development of program strategies and interventions based on information and lessons learnt from implementation of activities.
- Ensure project activities in West Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur are implemented according to the detailed implementation plan. Regularly review detailed implementation plan as per project document in order to ensure timely implementation of project activities.
- Ensure high quality technical implementation of all project interventions according to global best practices, and lessons learned from Save the Children programming in Indonesia and globally with input from Senior Manager Sponsorship, Senior Health Manager from Jakarta office and Health Hygiene Specialist.
- Ensure close collaboration with local stakeholders including establishing and developing strong and effective relationships with key cross sector district government officials and non-governmental stakeholders.
- Work together with Health Hygiene Specialist to develop and facilitate several initiatives for capacity building in Health and Hygiene issues for master trainers, teachers and health staff.
- Work together with MEAL Officer, Health Hygiene Specialist and other project staffs to develop relevant project studies (Baseline and End line Assessment).
- Work together with Senior Manager Sponsorship, MEAL Officer and other project staff to develop MEAL framework to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation and alignment and coordination with other projects in Sumba.
- Work with MEAL Officer, Project Officer and Community Mobilization Assistant to perform MEAL activities that may include regular data collection, documenting best practice, sharing lesson learned, etc
- Work together with Logistic/Procurement Officer to ensure the procurement and delivery of all materials required for project.
- Provide effective management and supervision of Project Officer
- Work together with Senior Manager Sponsorship and Advocacy Officer undertake advocacy activities to ensure the sustainability of the project.
- Contribute to monthly report and monthly work plan, and submit to Senior Manager Sponsorship.
- In collaboration with Project Officer and Health and Hygiene Specialist prepare draft donor narrative and financial reports and submit to Sponsorship Manager for approval.
- Ensure compliance with donor rules and SCI policies and procedures in project implementation.

QUALIFICATION:
Essential
- Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (public health, education, social science).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a project with contractor, corporate, or NGO environment, including significant field implementation experience
- Previous successful experience in development projects, preferably education projects in rural and semi urban.
- Previous experience working with local governments
- Good knowledge and ability to work to mobilize communities & development issues
- Good understanding of children’s issues in Indonesian context & education system
- Good communications skills including experience in training and mentoring
- Knowledge on public health approaches will be an advantage & the local text
- Demonstrated ability to implement Monitoring & Evaluation activities
- Financial management experience or knowledge
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work with children
- Computer literate
- Able to drive a motorcycle & licensed
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
Desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in written and spoken Indonesian, strong written and spoken English skills
- Proven report writing both in English and Indonesia
