Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the positions of:
1.
PROJECT OFFICER for BMUB ICI OIL PALM
The Project Officer supports the Oil Palm Program Manager for the day-to-day
operational, financial and administrative parts of the project.
S/he is also responsible for the administrative aspects of
Contract for Services (CFS), partner sub-awards under grant, including
assistance with due diligence activities, preparation and revision of
contracts, agreements, review of invoices, and maintenance
of award files. S/he works closely with the Oil Palm
Program Manager to ensure that the terms and conditions of contracts
and/or agreements are met and properly documented and ensure that award
monitoring meets TNC standards,
donors, and government rules.
The Project Officer is required to have high level of initiative, maintain
confidentiality, and ability to coordinate several projects at the same time.
S/he needs to have purposeful attention to detail, timeliness, and work organization.
S/he will work closely with the Indonesia Terrestrial Program
(ITP) Finance & Operations Manager to review government grants,
accounting transactions and ensure appropriate match transfers are
completed.
In coordination with ITP Finance & Operations Manager, s/he
will also monitor monthly BMUB accounting reports and account balances,
including advances to partner NGOs.
S/he is responsible for coordinating the procurement of
materials, supplies and services (travel, meeting, FCPA, VIP trip,
contract, filing documents, and others) for BMUB grant included GIZ and
CPI staff in a professional manner.
S/he researches and selects sources, controls prices and quality.
S/he maintains contact with suppliers for information affecting prices, availability and delivery.
S/he negotiates purchase contracts and develops schedule for delivery of products.
The Project Officer will work closely with the Grants Specialist on
BMUB award administration issues and with TNC’s sub-recipient monitoring program.
S/he will maintain contact/good relationship with partners and
other relevant parties in support of smooth project implementation on
the ground.
The Project Officer will be based in Jakarta office with frequent travel to other areas, such as
Jakarta, Samarinda and other fields. S/he will report to the Oil Palm Program Manager with dotter line coordination with ITP Finance & Operations Manager.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s
degree and at least 5 years’ experience in
management or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Technical
experience with contracting and accounting issues
· Experience
using accounting and financial reporting systems
· Ability
and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities
· Experience
in overseeing multiple central finance and administrative processes,
such as the management of central filing, general purchasing requests
· Experience
in developing, reviewing and administering contracts and/or agreements
· Ability
to communicate and work closely with conservationist, scientists, and project leaders
· Awareness
of current trends and practices in conservation, land management and natural resource preservation
· Completing
tasks independently with respect to timeline(s)
· Managing

INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST for BMUB ICI OIL PALM
The Institutional Development Specialist is responsible for implementing and facilitating capacity development
of government agencies, private sector companies, civil society organizations, and community on sustainable oil palm.
S/he plays leading role in, including but not limited to,
developing overall strategies of capacity development of these
institutions and facilitating development of training materials and
conduct of trainings.
The Institutional Development Specialist develops partnership and
commitment of key stakeholders to support the implementation of
sustainable oil palm by engaging them in multi stakeholders working
groups.
The Institutional Development Specialist will be based in Berau office with frequent travel to other
areas, such as Jakarta, Samarinda and other fields.
S/he will report to the Oil Palm Program Manager.
Requirements:

BA/BS degree and 7 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience
·
7 – 10 years’ experience in capacity development
·
Knowledge of current trends and strategies in sustainable natural resource management
·
Ability
to work with multi stakeholders, including government, private sector
companies, civil society organizations, and community at national,
provincial, and district levels
·

3.
SENIOR CONSERVATION PLANNER for BMUB ICI OIL PALM
The Senior
Conservation Planner serves as the principle contact to government
agencies, private sector
companies, civil society organizations, and community in spatial
planning, conservation planning, and land use planning of sustainable
oil palm development. S/he plays leading role in, including but not
limited to, developing planning framework, tools and
approaches, and analysis of spatial planning, conservation planning,
and land use planning, including the use of TNC’s Development by Design
framework for mitigation planning.
The Senior Conservation Planner develops partnership and commitment of key stakeholders to create better
planning of sustainable palm oil development.
S/he negotiates complex and innovative solutions with the government
agencies, private sector companies, and community in relation to
development and implementation of spatial planning, conservation
planning, and land use planning. The Senior Conservation Planner
will also represent TNC in national and international policy and
science dialogues on issues related to spatial analysis and mapping to
support sustainable landscape programs, especially related to palm oil.
The Senior Conservation Planner will be based in Samarinda field office with frequent travel to other
areas, such as Jakarta, Berau, and other fields.
The Senior Conservation Planner reports to the Oil Palm Program Manager.
Requirements:

10-12 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education
and experience
·
10 years’ experience in landscape planning, land use planning, and HCV assessment
·
Good
understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to spatial data
management
(such as UU Informasi Geospasial), spatial planning (such as UU
Penataan Ruang) and strategic environmental assessment (SEA/KLHS), and
“One Map” policy
·
Good understanding of oil palm sector at national and international levels, including
laws and regulations related to oil palm and RSPO
·
Ability to operate GIS software, such as ArcGIS and perform spatial analysis by
the software
·
Ability to work with multi stakeholders, including government, private sector companies,
civil society organizations, and community at national, provincial, and district levels
·
Knowledge of methods and standards of biodiversity information systems and initiatives
and experience conceiving and implementing strategic initiatives
·

4.
SENIOR MITIGATION PLANNER for BMUB ICI OIL PALM
The Senior Mitigation
Planner serves as the principal contact to private sector companies,
government, civil society organizations, and community regarding the
development
and implementation of mitigation strategies in the palm oil sector. S/he
plays leading role in, including but not limited to, conducting
mitigation assessment with private sector and government partners,
supporting development
of mitigation strategies, tools and approaches, and piloting the
implementation of these strategies, tools, and approaches in
coordination with private sector companies, government, and community.
The Senior Mitigation
Planner will work very closely with the Senior Conservation Planner to
bring cutting edge scientific analysis to mitigation policy and
practice.
The Senior Mitigation Planner will also work closely with national
level policy dialogue and downstream industry to effectively link
emerging incentive and accountability systems with sub-national and
site-level initiatives. The Senior Mitigation Planner develops
partnership and commitment on sustainable oil palm development with key
stakeholders and engages them through multi stakeholders working
groups. S/he negotiates complex and innovative solutions with the
government agencies, private sector companies, and community
in relation to development and implementation of policy and practices
of sustainable oil palm. The Senior Mitigation Planner will represent
TNC in national and international events related to mitigation programs
in East Kalimantan and help to shape TNC’s global
approach to sustainable palm oil development.
The Senior Mitigation
Planner will be based in Samarinda office with frequent travel to other
areas, such as Jakarta, Berau, and other fields.
S/he reports to the Oil Palm Program Manager.
Requirements:

5.
OIL PALM PROGRAM MANAGER
The Oil Palm Program Manager leads, manages, and implements all aspects of TNC’s oil palm program in Indonesia.
S/he is a member of Indonesia Terrestrial Program Senior Manager
Team (SMT) and is accountable for oil palm related outcomes under the
direction of the Terrestrial Program Director. Together with other ITP
senior managers, s/he establishes overall oil
palm strategic priorities for ITP, develops oil palm strategies, and
influences policies that will achieve the goals and objectives described
in the ITP Conservation Business Plan and BMUB ICI-funded project. S/he
will work with different team members within
the Indonesia Terrestrial Program, and the different units within the
Indonesia country program (External Affairs, Marketing and
Communication, etc.), in advancing the land conservation goals of the
program in Indonesia.
S/he will work with various partners, particularly GIZ and CPI, manage contracts, monitor progress, and report to donor agency.
S/he serves as the principle contact to government agencies,
other conservation organizations, foundations and academic community on
issues related to oil palm. S/he will play a leading role in donor
identification, cultivation and stewardship for the
program. S/he disseminates best practices, provides
training and analyses to best implement organizational measures of
success. While a substantial portion of the program will be focused on
Berau and East Kalimantan,
the program will also be involved with lesson sharing and policy
dialogue at the national level. S/he will play an important role in
designing and implementing TNC’s emerging global agriculture strategy.
This may include one or more of the following functions:

Establishes the Conservancy as an influential organization on issues related to sustainable oil palm in Indonesia
·
Identifies and
promotes priorities and strategic issues in his/her area of
responsibility in collaboration with Terrestrial Program Director and
other ITP SMT members
·
Develops and
implements cutting edge oil palm strategies to help transform TNC
Indonesia Program conservation policy, practice and outcomes
·
Leads and manages team which supports and improves conservation efforts
·
Builds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity in the field
·
Develops key
partnerships with public & private organizations in order to
identify and resolve technical issues and to widely communicate
solutions and best practices
·
Engages local community support for local conservation efforts
·
Negotiates complex and innovative solutions with government agencies and landowners to conserve and protect natural communities
·
Promotes TNC oil palm work at the national and international levels
·
Leads or supports fundraising initiatives from private (companies) and public sources to support ITP oil palm work in Indonesia
·
Sets key performance
indicators on annual basis based on program goals and objectives, in
consultation with Terrestrial Program Director and key SMT members, to
guide oil
palm initiatives
The Oil Palm Program Manager will be based in Jakarta office with frequent travel to Samarinda,
Berau, and other areas. S/he reports to the Terrestrial Program Director.
Requirements:

BA/BS degree and 10-12
years’ experience in conservation practice, oil palm sector, or
equivalent combination of education and experience
·
Knowledge of oil palm sector, partnership schemes in oil palm, RSPO, ISPO standards, HCV assessment and management.
·
Knowledge of climate change issues, especially REDD+ policy dialogue globally and in Indonesia
·
Demonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation policy and plans at the national level
·
Developing practical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovations
for conservation purposes
