Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction,
and Humanitarian Response. Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking
to fill the following position:
The Health and Hygiene Specialist is responsible for ensuring high
quality of Save the Children health, nutrition and hygiene
implementation programs in West Sumba by ensuring utilization of
behaviour change models, lessons learned and best practices from
community health, nutrition and hygiene programs, existing training
materials, and other best practices to design training methodology as
well as providing technical assistance for project staff, partners,
health providers, community, and other key stakeholders
in West Sumba.
Reports to: Senior Manager Sponsorship with dash line to Sr. Health Manager in terms of technical management
Dimensions: This position will responsible for assuring quality of Save the Children School Health and Nutrition (SHN) Programs based on Save the Children global SHN framework as well as lessons learned and good practice of the implementation of SHN project in Indonesia.

QUALIFICATION:
HEALTH & HYGIENE SPECIALIST
Clean and Healthy Start School Project
1 position, based in West Sumba
Reports to: Senior Manager Sponsorship with dash line to Sr. Health Manager in terms of technical management
Dimensions: This position will responsible for assuring quality of Save the Children School Health and Nutrition (SHN) Programs based on Save the Children global SHN framework as well as lessons learned and good practice of the implementation of SHN project in Indonesia.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Contribute with the quality technical input into the program design, planning and implementation.
- Ensure project staff capacity building program, including training sessions, on-site coaching and monitoring according to project’s needs and available resources.
- Ensure project staff have the technical capacity required to support project implementation activities and effectively monitor project implementation according to technical design.
- Provide project staff and partners with regular health technical updates based on Indonesia and global programs, lessons learned and best practices in health and hygiene.
- Conduct regular field visits to ensure activities are implemented according to project design and provide on – site coaching to project staff and partners.
- Responsible for the production of regular narrative progress and impact reports in terms of activities, implementation and progress against indicators and outcomes and to provide Managers with necessary information for the production of reports.
- In cooperation with MEAL officer monitor technical capacity of project staff and partners and provide on – site coaching and / or training as required.
- Regularly work in cooperation with Save the Children health and education staff to develop appropriate materials and tools for project implementation and capacity building.
- Maintain regular communication with technical teams and health and hygiene project teams to ensure coordination and access to technical assistance.
- Contribute to design and analysis of relevant program studies of health and hygiene projects (baseline, mid - term, evaluation)
- Contribute to country program development as required (e.g proposal, Country Office strategic planning)

QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelors University Degree of Public Health or Medical Doctor or Social work or equivalent in a relative fields
- A minimum of 5 years work experience with non government organization in community health, nutrition and hygiene training
- At least 4 years experience in the Health, Nutrition and Hygiene works within International NGO
- Proven ability to design and implement training and mentoring programs
- Excellent facilitation skill
- Strong communication skills
- Proven and demonstrated written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents
- Strong working relationships with government and other partners
- Strong ability to write comprehensive reports and develop presentations to document project successes and lessons learned
- Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment
