World Food Programme, Indonesia invites applications from the eligible candidates for the following position:
Position : Programme Assistant (SF/School Feeding)
Contract Type : Service Contract
Duration : 6 months with possibility for extension
Duty Station : Jayapura-Papua, Indonesia
Accountabilities:
Within delegated authority, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Prepare periodic projections of cash transfer
requirements/commitments by school and by locations based on existing
data and input data into the system;
2. Review, reconcile and analyze a variety of financial and operational/monitoring reports on a regular basis;
3. Support WFP Programme Officer in conducting workshop or training
or capacity development of the government counterparts at provincial and
district levels on school feeding programme;
4. Support in collecting data for baseline surveys related to school feeding as required;
5. Support in financial and administrative work related to the school feeding;
6. Assist WFP Programme Officer to establish an efficient reporting or monitoring system;
7. Report on the field observations to Programme Officer and make
recommendations/suggestions on any issues to improve performance;
8. Assess programme performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets;
9. Attend various meetings with local government and other relevant agencies and prepare the minute of the meetings;
10. Enhance and maintain relationship with key local government and
non-government agencies related to school feeding activities;
11. Draft correspondence related to school feeding activities as required;
12. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experiences:
Education: Secondary school education, preferably supplemented by courses in a field related to WFP programmatic activities.
Experience: At least four years of progressively responsible support or
work experience in humanitarian assistance, nutrition, development
programme, or research related activities is desirable. Experience in
working with international development programs is an advantage.
Knowledge: Experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other software packages.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
