ICCO Regional Office South East Asia & Pacific is looking for a

M4P (Making Market Work for the Poor) Consultant for Market Research and Developing Intervention in Trenggalek

ICCO, Interchurch Organization for Development Co-operation, was founded in 1965 by the Protestant churches in the Netherlands. ICCO’s mission is working towards a world without poverty and injustice. From the regional office in Denpasar, in the region South East Asia ICCO works in Indonesia, the Philippines, Burma/Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
 
ICCO and Australia Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture AIP – PRISMA currently work together in fisheries sector in Situbondo. The fishery sector was selected because it provides employment opportunities for about 10 million people particularly in coastal areas and small islands.  Some estimates peg this number to increase to 25 million people by 2020.  These field researches are intended to fill the missing information for Intervention Plan that going to be submitted to PRISMA. Work Profile of the M4P Consultant
The Consultant will work together with Program Officer of Indonesia and have close consultation with ICCO staff and manager who works on fisheries project.
 
Deliverables
1.       Work plan: who will be interviewed and what it supposed to get out of the interview
2.       Report to be submitted for review should be in English, with annexes if necessary. The report should also include contact of the players in sub-sector. The pointers for the report are suggested to follow the structure of the question in methodology section. The deliverable on output must also written in the report
3.       Final report should integrating input and feedback from ICCO
 
 
Timelines
·         Preparation (develop work plan and planning)   : 1 days
·         Desk reviews                                                      : 1 days
·         Field visit and meetings with ICCO staff             : 5 days (including travel)
·         Report writing                                                      : 2 days
Total 9 days, spread into 1 month period in April 2015            
 
Minimum Requirement
·         The person who conduct study will need to have expertise on fisheries, making market work for the poor and value chain
·         The person are expected to have on the ground knowledge and experience on fisheries sectors in Indonesia, Indonesian nationality, fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, have certain degree of academic level, knowledge on fisheries, marine and coastal in general are desirable, knowledge on M4P is required.
