Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for the
Protected Area Management Specialist, Palangka Raya based on our
USAID LESTARI project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government
of Indonesia to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve
biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant
forest and mangrove ecosystems.
Job Summary: The Protected Area
Management Specialist serves as a long-term technical specialist to
support successful implementation of Thematic Theme: Improved Management
of Conservation Areas and Protection of Key
Species in Katingan-Kahayan Landscape in Central Kalimantan. S/he will
support the Landscape Coordinator in implementing a comprehensive
strategy to improve management of conservation areas and protection of
key species in Katingan-Kahayan Landscape, particularly
in Sebangau National Park, Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park and
Bukit Tangkiling Ecopark. The specialist reports to the Landscape
Coordinator and works closely with Socio-economic Development
Coordinator.
Requirements include previous
experience in a similar position for USAID project or other
international donor projects; minimum 3 years of forestry and
biodiversity conservation sector experience; strong understanding
of protected area management and conservation policies and issues in
Indonesia; strong understanding and experience of facilitating
collaborative conservation management in protected areas; proven
experience in undertaking activities aimed at capacity building,
improving policy and regulations, and data collection and monitoring of
forests and wildlife resources; strong communication skills, both
interpersonal and written, to fulfill the technical and managerial
responsibilities proposed; familiar with USAID procedures
and regulations is an advantage; and willing to work and travel
intensively and extensively in the field. University degree in related
field required.
