Senior Technical Specialist- Financial Protection (Based in Jakarta)

DAI Global, LLC seeks a Senior Technical Specialist- Financial Protection for USAID’s Flagship Maternal and Child Health Program, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Flagship Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Activity promotes the development of locally led solutions to prevent maternal and newborn deaths and extend essential health services to remote and impoverished areas. 

The Financial Protection Specialist will work closely with the Senior Technical Advisor and field offices to improve access to health services for the poorest and most vulnerable populations, and support the development of schemes to mitigate risks associated with out of pocket costs related to preventive and curative maternal and newborn health services.  The Financial Protection Specialist will help map JKN coverage in the six project provinces, as well as complementary policies and government programs like the village fund and resources such as private sector investment, in order to support locally designed solutions to increase financial protection.

Specific responsibilities:

·       Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Advisor, oversee technical quality and lead field-level implementation of activities related to Financial Protection;

·       Provide technical support across partnerships and geographic offices to ensure quality coverage and consistent support to field staff, partners, and grantees.

Qualifications:

·       Minimum of 7 years of experience working within Indonesia’s health system with expertise in financial services. 

·       A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, health economics or relevant field required; Master’s preferred.

·       Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing in English.

·       USAID experience preferred;

·       Experience working with government, NGOs, donors, and other relevant stakeholders;

·       Demonstrated understanding of the JKN and other Indonesian risk pool innovations.

·       Ability to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines;

·       Willingness to travel to MNH offices throughout Indonesia.

·       Fluency in English.
