Global, LLC seeks a Senior Technical
Specialist- Vulnerable Populations
for USAID’s Flagship Maternal and Child Health Program, based in
Jakarta, Indonesia. The Flagship Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Activity
promotes the development of locally led solutions to prevent maternal and
newborn deaths and extend essential health services to remote and impoverished
areas.
The Senior
Technical Specialist-Vulnerable Populations will work closely with the Senior
Technical Advisor and field offices to increase utilization of maternal and
newborn health services by the poorest and most vulnerable populations. He or she will work with district health
offices, civil society organizations, communities, MNH actors and relevant
stakeholders to ensure that the design and implementation of activities reach
populations such as the economically disadvantaged, racial and ethnic
minorities, the uninsured, low-income children, the elderly, the homeless, and
other groups.
He or she
will look beyond the mainstream poverty reduction target indexes to reach the
poorest and most at-risk groups, and engage them in MNH program
initiatives.
Qualifications:
·
Minimum
of 7 years of experience working within Indonesia’s health system to address
issues of access to services and service delivery for poor and vulnerable
populations.
·
Bachelor’s
Degree in International Development, Women’s Studies, Education, Public Health,
Medicine, Social Sciences (such as Medical Anthropology), Education, or other
related field.
·
4+
years of professional experience working on related tasks on projects with
national or subnational (district or regional) governments, international or
local NGOs, and/or donors (USAID preferred).
·
Demonstrated
understanding and familiarity with issues related to disabled groups and
vulnerable populations as well as evidence-based solutions,
·
Demonstrated
excellence in writing and editing in English.
·
USAID
experience preferred;
·
Experience
working with government, NGOs, donors, and other relevant stakeholders;
·
Ability
to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and
short deadlines;
·
Willingness
to travel occasionally to MNH offices throughout Indonesia.
·
Fluency
in English.
