Ipas is a global nongovernmental
organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from
unsafe abortion. Abiding to the local regulations in each country, Ipas works
to ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive reproductive
health care, including comprehensive post abortion care with counseling and
contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.
We are currently seeking qualified
candidates for the position of Community
Access Officer, based in Jakarta. Position
is open for Indonesian nationality only.
The Community Access Officer will be
responsible in assisting Community Access Advisor and Ipas program team in
planning and providing technical assistance to increase and improve community
awareness as well as access to women’s centered reproductive health care
including FP, Post abortion care and counseling. S/He will also be responsible
to provide assistances and concepts in effective training/workshop/orientation
sessions in collaboration with local partners, monitor service delivery
progress and other follow up activities in consultation with Community Access
Advisor.
This position reports to Community Access
Advisor.
Responsibilities
· Program Implementation: Organize and arrange training\workshop\sharing meeting\events for
partner organizations; organize and participate in different Stigma and Behavior
Communications Change (SBCC) activities; arrange and facilitate orientation of
different materials and tools in collaboration with Health officials and
partner’s NGO workers to increase and improve community awareness and access to
healthcare. Provide monitoring and follow up support and supervise community
access activities by Ipas’ partners.
· Technical Assistance: Conduct assessment of different types of communities regarding their
existing situation, needs, demand and status including awareness and
availability of healthcare services. Liaise with Ipas’ partners organization
and other stakeholders. Provides input and support Community Access Unit in strategy development for community awareness
and access to healthcare, this will include methods and services, material
development and updates. Make partnership and liase with CBO/NGOs/partners, GoI
at national and local level, as well as other stakeholders.
· Reporting: Tracks
activity plan in Luna; fill up and enter ‘Community Access Activities’ reports
in to Terra
· Working closely with Community Access Advisor
to regularly review of Community Access work plans, field implementation and
progress
· Develops community access project designs,
timelines, budgets, and work plans in collaboration with in-country team
· Communicates and coordinate the activities
with relevant Ipas’ partners (NGO and CBO’s) to ensure projects are implemented
in the appropriate manner and that community specific content is emphasized
where applicable
· Oversee
and support grant implementation by Ipas’ grantees/subrecipents (NGO
and/CBOs)
· Collaborates with the R&E unit in
reference to Monitoring & Evaluation tools, database management, research
publications, and reports
· Follows up with state teams regarding IEC
materials and sub recipients/grantee monthly reports
· Working closely with Health System Unit,
Research and Evaluation Unit in reference to Community Access project updates
and strategies, best practice sharing, and resource sharing etc.
· Develops relationships with key external
stakeholders in the region to promote partnership building, linkages amongst
aligned organizations, and strategies for building social networking models at
urban and rural communities
Requirements
·
Bachelor’s
degree in social science/journalism/ communication or in related field. Master’s
degree is an advantage
·
3-5
years working experiences in the community/grass root level in health systems
including reproductive health
·
Experience
in training facilitation and management
· Experience
working with different community populations, including adolescents and women’s
groups, as well as health professionals and pharmacists, especially in the
areas of communication and training
·
Have
working knowledge of conceptualizing, implementing and monitoring
community-based interventions and initiatives
· Experience
working in the Public Health field, especially reproductive projects, is a plus
·
Knowledge
and experience in community mobilization, capacity building and training of
community groups
·
Working
knowledge of grant management
· Experience
in monitoring and mentoring community /communication initiatives in the field
·
Good
written and spoken communications skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
·
Strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural,
team-based global environment.
