Vacancy at KNCV : Bedaquiline Data Officer (1 month)

KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB), the deadliest infectious disease in the world. KNCV is an international center of excellence for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable tuberculosis control strategies in a national and international context. Our multidisciplinary team of passionate professionals covers a broad range of expertise such as programmatic TB control, research, clinical management, social science, education, digital health, and project management. Over the past century KNCV has made a significant contribution to the successful fight against TB in the Netherlands. Since the 1970s, we have shared our knowledge and expertise with the rest of the world. We operate from a central office in The Hague, the Netherlands, a regional office in Central Asia and country offices in Africa and (central) Asia. KNCV raises funds from private, institutional, corporate and government donors. KNCV Indonesia helps to combat tuberculosis in Indonesia in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

Challenge TB
KNCV is the lead partner in Challenge TB (CTB), the new USAID-funded 5-year global program to decrease TB mortality and morbidity in high burdened countries. We lead an international consortium with eight partner organizations: American Thoracic Society (ATS), Family Health International (FHI 360), Interactive Research & Development (IRD), Japanese Anti Tuberculosis Foundation (JATA), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), and the World Health Organization. The overarching strategic objectives of Challenge TB are to improve access to quality patient centered care for TB, TB/HIV, and MDR-TB services; to prevent transmission and disease progression; and to strengthen TB platforms.

Currently KNCV is looking for a:

Bedaquiline Data Officer (1 Month)
Duty Station: Representative Office, Jakarta

The Bedaquiline Data Officer will ensure Bedaquiline data from all study hospitals are validated and ready for analysis. Bedaquiline is a new TB drug that is currently used as one of the drugs for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB).

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct visit to all study hospitals, together with the National TB Program (NTP) and Badan POM, to collect treatment data of patients treated with Bedaquiline
  • Conduct data cleaning in 8 Bedaquiline implementation hospitals in 5 provinces as part of preparation for data analysis and reporting.
  • Review the medical record of DR-TB patients particularly those under Bedaquiline-content regimen.
  • Cross-check the data which have been entered into the national electronic recording & reporting system (e-TB manager) with the real data in the medical records, particularly follow-up data on adverse events and laboratories, drug changes or adjustments and perform the necessary corrections.
  • Review the laboratorium and radiologic results and its relation to patients’ treatment.
  • Collaborate and if required support or train or provide technical assistance to PV officers to ensure all PV officers have the same understanding on their task related to Bedaquiline implementation.
  • Discuss problems faced during data entry with PV officers, KNCV TO PMDT and Subdit TB (if necessary).
  • Ensure that all relevant data are entered into the selected RR software.
  • Review the adverse events of Bedaquiline regimen.
  • In collaboration with KNCV TOs and Subdit TB prepare and finalise interim Bedaquiline report.
  
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Health professional, preferably pharmacist with the following preference:
    1. experience in the management of TB / DR-TB
    2. experience in monitoring and reporting adverse events of pharmaceutical products
    3. experience in quantitative analysis and data management skills is an asset
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to travel outside of Jakarta
  • Fluent in English
