Senior Project Accountant


Jalin seeks a Sr. Project Accountant for USAID’s Flagship Maternal and Child Health Program, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Flagship Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Activity promotes the development of locally led solutions to prevent maternal and newborn deaths and extend essential health services to remote and impoverished areas. 

The Senior Project Accountant is based in Jakarta and reports directly to the Finance Manager. S/he is responsible for managing all project financial transactions and undertaking general accounting tasks following standard procedures and policies.
The Senior Project Accountant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
§  File and record financial transactions such as transfer files, payment requests, reconciliation files, check files, and or other financial transactions as necessary;
§  Assist in the preparation of annual VAT reporting to USAID and the Government of Indonesia;
§  Scan payment vouchers and supporting documentation as required;
§  Manage collection and storage of all project financial documents;
§  Ensure timely reconciliation of all advances and processing of associated vouchers; 
§  Maintain project bank documents and payroll documentation including check delivery, remittance of government-mandated social benefits payments and payments to vendors;
§  Review and ensure proper management of petty cash account; and
§  Other duties consistent with the overall focus of the assignment as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Requirements:
              A Bachelor degree in accounting or finance with audit experience preferred
              Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the field of finance
              Having experience in USAID and/or DAI project is preferable
              Able to work under tight deadlines and managing priorities
              Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
              High standard of personal and professional integrity
              Understanding of computer applications in respect to accounting, payroll, budgeting and cash control.
              Fluency in English both spoken and written.
