HIVOS EOI - Monitoring and Result Measurement (MRM) Assistant

 1.         Background

Since 2014, Hivos Southeast Asia has been implementing a Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) project in collaboration with DFAT-funded Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA) program. The project, entitled “Support Commercial Pig Rearing in Nusa Tenggara Timur” is implemented in Flores and Sumba in partnership with private sector entities, civil society organizations, and individual farmers. The objective of project is to increase pig farmer income by improving and incentivizing productivity. This will be achieved by addressing several constraints on farmers’ efficient participation in the market, namely; facilitating farmer access to finance; increasing the speed at which pig can raised via the introduction of service provider for fodder, extension services, commercial aggregation and processing; and developing retail, wholesale and export potential in NTT.

This year Hivos recruits new field staffs in various positions to accelerate the ongoing progress for higher target, one of the vacant position is Monitoring and Result Measurement (MRM) Assistant. Under the direct supervision of MRM Manager, the assistant will be responsible to assist overall day-to-day result and measurement activities at field level in compliance with Hivos’ and donor’s guidelines.

The MRM Assistant will be based in Hivos local office in Ende. S/he has the core responsibility to assist MRM Manager in data collection, analysis and validation. Under the supervision of MRM Manager, s/he will translate the project’s Result Chain into SMART project targets and tangible indicators, develop monitoring and measurement plan, and provide necessary data for reports and audit. S/he will effectively communicate this plan and its requirements to enumerators and the project team.

The MRM Assistant reports to MRM Manager and coordinates closely with field team member and Jakarta-based Project Officer and Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer


 2.      Scope of Work

1.    To assist MRM Manager in conducting day-to-day monitoring and result measurement activities in accordance with Hivos’ and donor’s based MRM standard, including but not limited to development of monitoring plans, data collection, result and learning analysist, and monthly and quarterly reporting
2.    To support MRM Manager in designing database and monitoring system and in providing necessary and accurate data on a timely basis
3.    In coordination with Field Coordinator, team member and relevant external parties (donor, enumerator, partner, etc), to compile relevant MRM data for reporting
4.    To assist the partner (local partners, consultant, enumerator, etc) in conducting MRM-related activities
5.    To represent MRM Manager, in particular cases, in meetings.


 3.      Knowledge and experiences :

·           Bachelor degree in Social Science or other related field
·           Substantial knowledge regarding the program management on field level
·           Excellent skill in operating Excel program will be highly prioritized
·           At least 2 years previous field experience in result and measurement role in income- generating project
·           Strong organizational, planning, management skills
·           English language skill is highly required
·           Experience working in Flores and Sumba Island is preferable
·           Experience in survey or research activities
·           The ability to communicate with, connect, and inquiring information from partner/stakeholder
·           Has interest and sound knowledge in livestock particularly pig issue
·           Good interpersonal skill and ability to work in team.
