GGGI Indonesia is looking for a Spatial Data Analyst and Mapper

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) was established as an intergovernmental organization with the objective of promoting sustainable development of developing and emerging countries including the least developed countries. GGGI is dedicated to supporting the creation and diffusion of the model of economic growth known as “green growth”. The green growth model integrates economic growth, environmental sustainability, poverty reduction and social inclusion.

GGGI Indonesia is looking for a Spatial Data Analyst and Mapper to provide spatial analysis and mapping of the principal forested landscapes and ecoregions across each of Indonesia’s seven bioregions: Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Bali – Nusa Tenggara. He or she will work closely with and support the other consultants, providing analysis to ‘build the case’ for a landscape approach to forest management s in a visually appealing and scientifically robust fashion.

Requirements:
  • Master degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Business, Spatial Planning, or closely related field. Advanced degree in closely related field preferred.
  • Minimum of (10) ten years' experience relevant professional experience.
  • High level expertise of GIS application and GIS automation and spatial data coding. Strong analytical, organization, technical and communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise work and staff as assigned. Evaluate facts, evidence and data in order to draw reasonable and fair conclusions and make sound decisions. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships both internally and externally. Strong personal computer skills, scheduling programs/applications in particular
  • In-depth knowledge of issues related to spatial planning, forestry areas, land reform and climate change in Indonesia
  • Proven capacity to present analytical work in clear and compelling reports with operational, actionable, recommendations.
  • A working knowledge of Indonesin government systems will be an advantage.
