Background
The Tanoto Foundation is a philanthropic organization established by Mr. Sukanto Tanoto and Mrs. TinahBingei Tanoto to participate in poverty alleviationthrough three pillars: Education, Empowerment, and Enhancement.The Tanoto Foundation was built upon the belief of the founders that every human being deserves an equal right to obtain a better life. In doing so, they believe that the main pillar in getting a better life is through education.

In January 2018 the Tanoto Foundationstarted to develop and expand its Pelita Pendidikan program. The program is working to improve access to quality primary and junior secondary school education initially in 14 districts in five provinces. The provinces are North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, East or Central Java, and East Kalimantan. The program is working with central government, district governments, schools and teacher training institutes to build their capacity to support the provision of quality education. The program will be building on its previous work in North Sumatra, Riau and Jambi and adopting proven approaches to improving education quality similar to those developed under other national or international programs.
Tanoto Foundation is seeking two Teacher & School Training Coordinator (one person responsible for primary schools and one person responsible for junior secondary schools)with relevant capacity and experience as listed below to support the implementation of the program. 1.       Review and revise teacher and school management and leadership training materials
2.       Orientate other project staff, especially provincial teacher training staff in the materials and their use
3.       Plan, coordinate and supervise the selection of district training facilitators jointly with local government
4.       Plan and manage training of district facilitators
5.       Support and monitor the implementation of cluster/district level teacher, school principals and supervisor training
6.       Support and monitor the implementation of mentoring and teacher working group activities after training
7.       Identify future training needs and coordinate activities to develop new materials to address these needs
·    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education or other related fields.
·    Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in the education development sector especially in teacher training and training materials development
·    Willingness to travel frequently to provinces and districts
·    Good interpersonal skills
·    Good communications skills in speaking and writing in Bahasa Indonesia
·    Ability to communicate in English would be an advantage

The Project Officer will be located in the District Education Office (Dinas Pendidikan) and will work in partnership with local government and with the support of provincial and Jakarta staff to implement the program in their district including:
1.       Organizing training and other activities in line with the agreed program
2.       Making regular visits to partner schools to monitor progress and identify issues that need to be addressed
3.       Collecting data on program activities and impact as needed
4.       Supporting regular monitoring and evaluation of the program
5.       Giving relevant feedback and advice to provincial and Jakarta staff to improve the implementation and impact of the program

·         Bachelors Degree or similar qualification
·         At least 3-5 years experience of working with districts government institutions and/or schools
·         Proven ability to manage a program of activities at district level
·         Ability to work reliably and independently without supervision
·         Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
·         Good computer literacy
·         Good communication and interpersonal skills

The Project Coordinator will be located in the district and will focus to administer and monitor the transition of Pelita Pendidikan Program
1.         Planning and administering activities in the distric either for programmatic activities or financial accountability
2.         Ensuring the transition plan and/or exit plan are efficiently and effectively implemented
3.         Monitoring training and mentoring at district and school levels, including making regular visit to schools and identifying issues that needs to be addressed
4.         Coordinating training, mentoring, meeting and other relevant activities with local government or stakeholders including Tanoto Foundation corporate partners
5.         Collecting data on program activities and impact as needed
6.         Supporting regular monitoring and evaluation of the transition program
7.         Giving relevant feedback and advice to provincial and Jakarta staff to improve the implementation and impact of the transition program
