Partnerships Officer for SNV Indonesia

SNV Indonesia is looking for a:

Partnerships Officer
(National staff position)
 
SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation. Founded in the Netherlands 50 years ago, we have built a long-term, local presence in 38 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global teams of local and international advisors work with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.

In Indonesia, SNV operates under the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Republic of Indonesia. SNV currently works in 8 provinces.

To support its operation, SNV is now seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill in the position of Partnerships Officer to be based in our Jakarta Office.

S/he will work with the team to develop and maintain positive working relations with government partners at all level concerning SNV and its representative status in country, including making connections and ensuring that compliance is adhered to.


Key Responsibilities

1) Government relation
a. Understand the protocol and work with the team to maintain positive working relations with the Government of Indonesia at national, provincial and district levels.
b. Organize coordination and monitoring meetings of projects in close collaboration with Project Management of SNV as required in agreements with the Government of Indonesia.
c. Coordinate with relevant ministries in arranging operational permit (MOU) and work permit for foreign employees.
d. Responds to ad-hoc requests for information from government partners regarding the projects of SNV.

2) Reporting
a. Gather relevant data (project, finance, HR) for the purpose of country planning and reporting to Government of Indonesia at national, provincial and district levels.
b. Write planning and (semi) annual progress reports with inputs from project managers and management to be submitted to the Government of Indonesia as part of the MoU. 

3) Partnerships and Communication Advice
Support, asked and unasked, management and advisors on partnerships and communications matters to support SNV activities. Knows the government protocol and ensures it is abided to in SNV’s external communications involving researches, reports and communications materials.

4) Press/ media contacts
For any government related activities, coordinate press / media contact, collect references to SNV in the press, maintains relations with the press, and may act as spokesperson to the press, edits press releases if required.


Candidate profile

1) University Degree in Social Science, Communication, Public Relations or other relevant discipline
2) At least 5 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in an international development organisation and with Ministry of Home Affair would be an advantage.
3) S/he have a strong network with different ministries at national and regional level and able to navigate within these network to pave positive relations for SNV activities.
4) Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including report writing
5) Good command of spoken and written English
6) Good negotiation and coordination skills
7) Self-motivated and organized
8) Ability to work independently and with the team
9) Willingness to work a flexible schedule
10) Initiative and creative in solving problems
11) Excellent computer skills in MS Office, Power Point, Outlook/ Internet and social media platforms.
12) Experience in supporting agriculture, WASH and energy projects would be an advantage


Contract duration           1 year with possibility of extension

Desired start date          January 2019

Duty station                      Jakarta
