Job description – Social  Specialist to Tropical Landscapes Finance Facility (“TLFF”)

ABOUT:
The TLFF is a Government of Indonesia supported initiative facilitated by UN Environment, World Agroforestry Centre, ADM Capital and BNP Paribas. The TLFF leverages public funding to unlock private finance for sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. The TLFF coordinates cross-functionally between the government, private sector and communities to foster large-scale positive change. TLFF is looking for a specialist with experience in working with Indonesian indigenous people, smallholder communities and other stakeholders to support the investment teams in Jakarta and Hong Kong. 

Position Summary:
The main role of the Social Specialist (“SS”) would be to work directly with TLFF investment and ESG assessment staff to: 
a)      Develop operational procedures, processes, guidance, toolkits, and references for indigenous peoples, smallholder communities and other stakeholders in Indonesia
b)      Assist to develop, implement, report and update TLFF’s practices and guidelines to indigenous peoples, smallholder communities and other stakeholders
c)       Advise and support TLFF on all aspects of social considerations and provide technical inputs
d)      Develop evaluation reports and workshop materials that are adaptable to Indonesia culture
e)      Effectively communicate results of evaluations and implementation toolkits
f)        The SS should have a clear understanding of the environmental and social aspects/challenges of agriculture projects and be able to equally support ESG DD
g)       Support efforts to document agriculture projects transactions, including assessments, and due diligence reports
h)      Knowledgeable in current trends and development concerning to inclusion of ingenious peoples and smallholder communities within the context of climate change
Qualifications:
a)      At least 5 years direct experience in social consultancy in Indonesia
b)      Experience and demonstrated facility working with an international team
c)       Understanding of the regulatory and social challenges regarding indigenous peoples and smallholder communities in Indonesia
d)      Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
e)      Demonstrated leadership, strong organizational skills, integrity
f)        Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English essential
