About Water.org
Water.org is a U.S.‐based
non‐profit organization working to increase access to water and sanitation supply
(WSS) through collaboration with a variety of local partners. Water.org’s
WaterCredit initiative leverages the existing relationships, infrastructure and
expertise of financial institutions to increase access to capital for water and
sanitation, and to educate and empower low‐income households to invest in water
and sanitation facilities.
The
WaterCredit Adoption (WCAD) Program, is Water.Org initiatives to scale up the
impact outreach of WSS financing product by engaging large scale financial
institution and/or through partnership with association. Indonesia is just
recently starting to start the opportunities with the potential microfinance
association partner.
About the Partner
The
partner is an association of rural bank based in Central Java Province on the
island of Java in Indonesia whom provides financing services across the 29
regencies and 6 cities. The rural bank offers a wide range of loan and savings
products, including small business (UMKM), agricultural, water and sanitation,
and educational loans.
Main function of WSS Product Development Manager:
WSS Product Development Manager is responsible to lead the implementation
of WSS loan product under the association, maintain professional relation with
third party (including government and other WSS sector key players), monitor the
progress of product development, and ensure the quality of knowledge transfer
process. WSS Product Development Manager will guide the WSS Product
Implementation Advisers in resolving bottlenecks faced by rural bank partners
in delivering the program milestones.
WSS Product Development
Manager Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Coordinate with the association divisions and
its rural bank networks to ensure successful implementation of WaterCredit
Adoption program activities and development of WSS loan program

Coordinate with Water.org, including regular
reporting and on-going communications
-
Ensure the WSS loan product development
activities are executed in a quality and timely manner
-
Maintain active participation and submit
scheduled report to the Association leader about WCAD program activities progress.

Develop training plan for bank partners
-
Mitigate internal risk by immediately
notifying the Association leadership, WSS Product Implementation Advisers and
other team members in the event of challenges.

Manage WSS Product Implementation Advisers to
ensure support for the WSS suppliers and construction partners
-
Provide feedback to rural bank partners based
on field visits and monitoring, including borrowers, loan officers, and
branch managers
-
Provide WSS Product Implementation Advisers
with supplemental trainings as needed
-
Coordinate with WSS Product Implementation
Advisers to ensure partners’ development of WSS loan marketing strategy,
plan, and materials
-
Coordinate and maintain active communication with
the related government bodies at province level and WSS stakeholders, such as
PDAM, Local Health Department, Local Public Works Department, Community
Health Center, BPSPAMS, and others

Managing monthly portfolio report to the
Water.org portal website
-
Provide assistance to arrange field visit
event from Water.Org and other interested parties as needed.

Qualification for WSS
Product Development Manager:
-
Minimum bachelor’s degree economics, finance,
international development, or relevant sector.

Has working experiences in WSS, microfinance
institution, or other relevant sector. Has proficient knowledge the basic
concepts in water, sanitation, and hygiene will be an advantage point.

Has working experience in engaging government
bodies at provincial level, especially in WSS sectors.

Has leadership skills and motivation in social
development to better the life quality of the BOP.

Has the ability to work in team or
independently and is striving to achieve targets.
-
Good communication skills, both verbal and
written.

Adequate technology knowledge.

Ability to think strategically and identify
the most efficient use of program resources
-
Honest, responsible, creative, innovative,
initiative, and professional
-
Comfortable traveling extensively to bank
partners’ offices and operating areas
