About Water.org
Water.org is a U.S.‐based
non‐profit organization working to increase access to water and sanitation supply
(WSS) through collaboration with a variety of local partners. Water.org’s
WaterCredit initiative leverages the existing relationships, infrastructure and
expertise of financial institutions to increase access to capital for water and
sanitation, and to educate and empower low‐income households to invest in water
and sanitation facilities.
The
WaterCredit Adoption (WCAD) Program, is Water.Org initiatives to scale up the
impact outreach of WSS financing product by engaging large scale financial
institution and/or through partnership with association. Indonesia is just
recently starting to start the opportunities with the potential microfinance
association partner.
About the Partner
The
partner is an association of rural bank based in Central Java Province on the
island of Java in Indonesia whom provides financing services across the 29
regencies and 6 cities. The rural bank offers a wide range of loan and savings
products, including small business (UMKM), agricultural, water and sanitation,
and educational loans.
Main function of WSS Advisers:
WSS Adviser is responsible to assist the implementation of WSS loan
product under the direction of WSS Product Development Manager and Association
Management, maintain professional relation with WSS sector key player, monitor
the progress of product development, and ensure the implementation of knowledge
transfer process. WSS Adviser will be working closely with WSS Product
Development Managers, rural bank partners, and other related party in resolving
bottlenecks with faced by rural bank partners during the implementation of the
program.
WSS Product Implementation
Advisers Responsibilities:

Build a working team with WSS Product
Development Manager, rural bank partners and its branches network and other
related party to implement water and sanitation financing product.

Provide technical assistance and first-hand
solution to rural banks’ bottlenecks in the field.

Assist rural bank partners in attracting
potential water and sanitation suppliers in their operating areas.

Develop training plan for bank partners and
ensure the training delivery quality (event arrangement, materials, and post
training follow up).

Assist rural bank partners in monitor the WSS
facility constructions to clients.

Working with rural bank partners to evaluate
product development progress and identify challenges to be addressed.

Alongside with WSS Product Development Manager
and rural bank partners, establish coordination to cooperate with sanitarians
in health center offices in order to develop strategies, at the RT/RW,
village, sub-district, or district levels

Coordinate with WSS Product Development
Managers and bank partners to ensure partners’ the development of WSS loan
marketing strategy, plan, and materials

Provide monthly report on the progress of WSS product
development in rural bank to the WSS Product Development Manager.

Qualification for WSS Advisers:
-
Academic background at least bachelor’s degree.
-
Has working experiences in WSS, microfinance
institution, or other relevant sector. Has proficient knowledge the basic
concepts in water, sanitation, and hygiene will be an advantage point.

Has leadership skills and motivation in social
development to better the life quality of the BOP..

Has the ability to work in team or
independently and is striving to achieve targets.

Good communication skills, both verbal and
written.

Adequate technology knowledge.

Honest, responsible, creative, innovative,
initiative, and professional

Comfortable traveling extensively to bank
partners’ offices and operating areas
