KIAT: GESI CSE Adviser for Transit Oriented Development & Urban Mobility

The role
The GESI CSE Adviser will work closely with the Advisers of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Urban Mobility (UM) to mainstream GESI CSE effectively across the studies in TOD and UM, and provide recommendations that will improve the accessibility and safety of transport and mobility systems for women, children, people with disabilities, and members of other vulnerable groups.  The GESI CSE Adviser will provide sound advise so that KIAT’s planning, operations, and implementations sets the highest possible standard for GESI and CSE in infrastructure programs.  The Adviser will ensure that KIAT’s priorities on addressing the needs of women, people with disabilities, children and other vulnerable groups (such as ethnic minorities and indigenous peoples) are integrated into any recommendations and implementation, and Effective participation of women, people with disabilities and members of other vulnerable groups is facilitated.  The Adviser will ensure that reports and activities are consistent with the KIAT GESI and CSE Strategy (2018-2021) and its conceptual framework and contribute to the overall GESI and CSE monitoring and evaluation, and will ensure that KIAT is aware of any strategic and emerging issues relating to GESI CSE in infrastructure..
 
This role also involves will have the following key activities:
  • With the TOD and UM advisers ensure that women, people with disabilities and members of other vulnerable groups are consulted consistent with relevant GOI legislation and regulations and facilitate these discussions as required.
  • Provide information on best practice in relation to UM and TOD with respect to women, people with disabilities and members of other vulnerable groups to the advisers from the international literature.
  • Facilitate meetings with other donor partners and CSO’s working on the issues (such as UN Women, KUAT, HWDI and any relevant Pokja within DKI Jakarta) and others.
  • Examine the available approaches on the collection of quantitative sex- and disability-disaggregated data (and data from other vulnerable groups) and identify gaps in data collection as well as strategies for improved data collection and its use to inform policy and implementation relevant to this assignment..
  • Work collaboratively with the TOD and UM advisers and KIAT staff and KIAT GESI and CSE team and contribute to team events and other activities as requested.
  • Support ongoing positive relationships between the GESI and CSE team and GoI representatives and relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify other activities related to GESI and CSE in the infrastructure sector in DKI Jakarta that may be provide possible areas for future collaboration.

About you
You will be a motivated and proactive GESI CSE Adviser with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:
Essential:
  • A Bachelor/Master’s degree in a relevant subject such as sociology, social anthropology, economics, international development, etc.
  • Fluent Bahasa Indonesia ability is necessary to be successful in this position.
  • High level report writing skills.
  • At least 8 years professional working experience in a similar role..
  • Experience working with donor funded programs.
  • Fluent in English language in writing and speaking.
  • Scrupulous in maintaining high standards of probity expected by the KIAT Facility.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, creative and a lateral thinking ability.
  • Willing to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to assist and support the team members.
  • Availability from February 2018

Remuneration
Commensurate with level of experience and qualifications for the role. Successful Indonesian nationals will be engaged under a local contract in IDR and will be subject to Indonesian employment regulations and tax obligations
