Founded in
1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental,
non-religious, and non-profit making organization that delivers programmes in
over 45 countries. Recognized worldwide as a leader in the fight against
hunger, our mission is to save lives through the prevention, detection, and
treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations and
conflicts. Action Against Hunger had been now developed into Action Against
Hunger International network with headquarters in France, Spain, Canada, UK and
USA.
Action
Against Hunger has been active in the NTT district since 2007 since its first
established in 1999 in Indonesia in cooperation and partnership with the
Ministry of Health, local authorities and stakeholders. Around 40
networks have benefited from a renovation, as have water sources and wells. In
the Kupang District, Action Against Hunger now implements a range of integrated
community based programs in Nutrition and Care practices, Food Security, Water
Sanitation & Hygiene, Emergency response and DRR/Climate Change Adaptation
going from relief to recovery in order to address effectively the population’s
needs.
Under the
current activities of our program in Kupang District, East Nusa Tenggara
Province, a key area to focus is to support the capacity building of local
authorities, community, include local NGO to improve the capacity to replicate
key activities on their own future. To actualize this, Action Against Hunger is
now seeking a good candidate to fill the position of “Data Analyst”, with the following:

Primary Objective:
To guarantee the comprehensive
processing of project data from HEALTH & NUTRITION Department; from
processing (entry) to analysis, and to formulate any recommendations and
notifications required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Data
Management and Entry:
·
Develop/create a data system/management for the Nutrition
Department
·
Check the quality of data to be
entered and report any problems encountered;
·
Evaluate the time required to
process data and feedback on progress in processing;
·
Enter data into the specialised
software using consistent formatting, by monthly and tracking;
·
Check data entered using the
existing information data;
·
Detect missing or redundant data and
propose possible improvements;
·
Assist the Health Programme Manager
and Field Supervisor with database
quality control and inform him/her of any technical problems.
·
Work with other ACF programs to be
able to link data creating multi-sector information
2. Data
archiving:
·
File questionnaires and IT data in
an organised fashion that is accessible to all (clear file names, well
organised files etc.);
·
Code data;
·
Perform daily back-up of data
entered on a disk or CDRom. Or public server as necessary.
3. Analyse
data:
·
Taking data from the Health Field
Monitor: register, monthly report; training reports, etc.
·
Sort and cross-check data;
·
Create tables of statistics; based on request from Health PM
·
Draft reports of results based on
data entered; in weekly and monthly based
·
Analyse strengths and weaknesses
observed in the collection of data.
4. Formulate
recommendations and notifications on the data processing process:
·
Organise weekly meetings with field
workers to raise any flaws in the field data collection process;
·
Advise and support Field Supervisor
and Health PM to determine ways to improve the quality of data collection;
·
Inform line manager as early as
possible should flaws be observed in the data collection process;
·
Provide clarification to line
manager and CC on incoherencies observed during the analysis of data and part
of decision made for further recommendation / action plan.
·
Organize data reporting on to DHO
and 12 Puskesmas with coordination with Health Program Manager, in monthly and
quarterly basses.
Selection Criteria:
1. Attention
to detail - Diligence - Rigour - Autonomy - Organisation and Flexibility -
Analytical and summarizing skills - Ability to make recommendations based on
tracking and monthly up-date and propose solutions
2. Spoken
and written English
Essential:
1.
Knowledge of IT software packages
(to be specified): required
2.
Knowledge of IT software packages of
SPSS; EPI-ENA and ACCESS (to be specified in function of the nature of the
project): an advantage in development of Nutrition and integration works
3.
Good knowledge and ability to learn
to use new software
Desirable:
1.
Demonstrated experience in Data
Analyst
