Kopernik - Vacancy - Associate Director of Communications - Ubud, Bali

THE POSITION
LOCATION: UBUD, BALI

The Associate Director of Communications will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Kopernik’s communications and digital marketing strategy and all existing channels, working to widen Kopernik’s target audience reach and communicating Kopernik’s work effectively.
He or she will lead Kopernik’s communications team and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement Kopernik's external and internal communications strategy, and ensure it aligns with the organizational mission and goals.
  • Develop and maintain digital marketing activities to improve Kopernik's digital presence and audience engagement.
  • Support all of Kopernik’s teams with their communications need and provide communications support services as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, and partners from the development, private, community and creative sectors.
  • Develop a strategic fundraising plan and donor communications activities to support Kopernik's current projects and emerging initiatives, including preparing emergency response crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Develop concepts for and organise events to share Kopernik’s work.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive base of knowledge about Kopernik's experimentation projects and future initiatives being developed to support fundraising strategy.
  • Create effective tools and reports regarding fundraising, donor history and relationships, donor communications, and mailing lists to help in the analysis of the effectiveness of fundraising strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of Kopernik’s brand strategy and manage the creation and dissemination of key messages.
  • Oversee Kopernik’s communications digital channels (website and social media) to ensure all channels are updated regularly and reflect key messages.
  • Oversee preparation and production of digital, print, audio/visual communications materials including annual reports, newsletters, donor reports, media releases, flyers, infographics, and videos.
  • Lead and motivate the communications team members (Communications Officers and Web Developer) to produce their best work in implementing digital outreach and marketing, content creation, fundraising, community outreach, media engagement, and multimedia production activities.
  • Actively seek for relevant funding opportunities and develop proposals and applications.
  • Manage the communications budget.
  • Participate in and contribute to Kopernik’s leadership team.

  • Ability to juggle multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment and react efficiently to shifting priorities or unpredictable activities.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary working environment.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Communication & Development studies.
  • Minimum 10 years of continuous work experience in communications and marketing, with at least three years in a similar management role.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing communications strategies, digital marketing plans, creative campaigns, and fundraising activities.
  • Strong visual communication skills and ability to apply brand guidelines to print and digital materials.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Grant writing experience, including the government, private, and corporate grants.
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including MailChimp, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other Google tools.
  • Experience with using design, video and photo-editing software, platforms, and processes.
  • Photography and videography experience.
  • Experience in website content management.
  • Clear understanding of social entrepreneurships and innovations and experience working in development sector.
  • A can-do and collaborative mind set, comfortable with the ambiguities and demands of a rapidly evolving work environment.
  • A commitment to Kopernik’s culture and values in reaching underserved communities.
  • Indonesian national.
