Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (YPII) is a national entity affiliated with Plan International Indonesia, that has been working since 1969 in Indonesia to advance the fulfilment of child’s rights and welfare of communities. Aligning with Plan International Global Ambition to reach 100 million girls, YPII is currently implementing the 5-year Country Strategy 4 (CS4) to reach 1 million girls in Indonesia in key programs of LEARN (skill and opportunity for youth economic empowerment), LEAD (participation and leadership of girls and youth), DECIDE (adolescence sexual and reproductive health and rights) and THRIVE (care and protection for children and young people), in the context of development and humanitarian settings. YPIII works with national and local NGOs and government partners to implement projects, advocacy and campaign to ensure that equality for girls is at the centre of attention from community and government.
Yayasan Plan International Indonesia invites highly competent, experienced and committed professionals to fill the following position: 
Child and Youth Participation Specialist ( Jakarta )
Dimensions of the roles :  This position reports to Advocacy Manager; This role has a national leadership presence to support Child and Youth Participation design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation within YPII. The position will lead the development and implementation of strategy, policy, organisational change processes and national programmes on child and youth participation; Supports the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of Global Policies such as Safeguarding Children and Young People in YPII, and develops a quarterly report on child and youth influencing; Provides technical support and guidance to Child and Youth Participation specialists and focal points across YPII, Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) and Youth Coalition for Girls (YCG); Leads Plan’s Child & Youth Participation capacity building Programme in YPII, ensures that appropriate knowledge, skills, tools and capacities are in place to support Plan staff’s performance on meaningful child and youth participation.; Coordinates with Regional and Global Forums/ Network on child and youth participation to become an effective community of information sharing and exchange on child & youth participation across the global organisation.; Represents YPII at national, regional and global levels to influence national, regional and international policy makers on child and youth participation; Helps ensure Child and Youth Participation components are embedded into human resources processes, national research agenda, monitoring and evaluation, marketing, fundraising and communications materials; Leads Manages YPII’s youth engagement network (approximately 5 people) and manages consultants when relevant; Helps manage the Advocacy department budget that relates to child and youth participation components. 
Accountabilities :Support internal capacity of YPII on Child and Youth Participation;Establish network and outreach to strengthen YPII’s position on child and youth participation; Supports for Girls Get Equal campaign and spearheads national initiatives on girls and young women’s empowerment; Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GESI)
Qualifications for this position are  Bachelor Degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: youth studies, international development, gender, inclusion, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or other social science field. Minimum of 3 years of work experience working on development programmes. Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing) in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Knowledge of the links between gender equality, children’s rights and NGO development programming practice.Demonstrated understanding of meaningful child and youth participation and child and youth led initiatives and child and youth sensitive monitoring and evaluation. Excellent understanding of the practicalities of designing, implementing, and evaluating high quality programmes that promote meaningful child and youth participation. Excellent understanding of relevant policy-making processes and institutions on child and youth participation. Ability to design proposals, guidelines and standards, monitor and evaluate child and youth participation programming, based on sound analysis. Strong team work.. Ability to build internal and external networks across countries. Facilitation and training skills for children and young people. Dealing with conflict with tact and collected manner Desirable Advanced university degree. Knowledge of gender, theory of Change and socio-ecological framework. Knowledge of social norms research and other tools to ensure that researches are able to change community perspectives’ positively. Have experiences in supporting child and youth led initiatives and/ or movements. Strong ability to communicate theoretical concepts on Child and Youth Participation in simple terms and to apply these to practical solutions to promote meaningful children and youth participation. Ability to inspire others and bring them around a common agenda. Strong management and public mobilisation skills. Confident public speaker with media skills
