GIZ Indonesia for the Climate Smart Land Use in ASEAN (CSLU): Internship on Climate Knowledge Management

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organization which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has a record of more than 50 years of cooperation with the Association of the South East Nations (ASEAN).


GIZ in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat is currently implementing the project “Climate Smart Land Use in ASEAN” (CSLU). The objective of this project is to strengthen ASEAN in its role as coordinator of efforts contributing to international and national climate policy processes in the sphere of climate-friendly and climate-resilient land use in the agriculture and forestry sector.

There are interacting project outputs aimed to happen at various level of governance: national, regional and international. The designed interventions are aimed to highlights the correlations between agriculture and forestry for climate mitigation and adaptation in the region. Therefore, CSLU identifies the support needs to facilitate series of activities in promoting regional knowledge exchange and connecting with existing national policy context. For this reason, CSLU seeks a qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position:

Internship on Climate Knowledge Management

  1. Responsibilities
The internship is to assist the project with preparing and carrying out series of knowledge exchange events as a systematic approach to sharing tacit knowledge for promoting climate smart land use policies and translating them into practices.

  1. Tasks

The following tasks provide a framework and can be adjusted during the internship:
  • Support the project with preparatory and administrative coordination with regional, national and sub-national stakeholders;
  • Assist the development of concept on knowledge exchange event in and between ASEAN Member States
  • Document captured knowledge during the exchange event for the basis of formulating further knowledge products and information materials;
  • Draw up reports and presentation document
  • Monitor and report the ongoing virtual climate knowledge exchange events
  • Align the knowledge event and products with pre-existing climate policy context

  1. Required qualifications, competences and experience

Education
Undergraduate university degree in a relevant discipline, ideally agriculture, forestry, environmental science or related areas of development

Skill and knowledge
  • Excellent command in both spoken and written English
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Excellent command of MS – Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Apply system thinking in approaching climate issues and knowledge management
  • Willingness to up skill as required by the tasks to be performed
  • Possess ability and affinity in working digitally
  • Organizes multiple tasks and reporting relationships
  • Sensitivity in dealing with political and administrative stakeholders, combined with the ability to assess various stakeholders
