Position: Strategic Communication
Specialist
Background
Institute for Essential
Services Reform (IESR), a think tank in energy and environment, is working on
an initiative to transform Indonesia's energy sector to be more sustainable and low
carbon.
IESR
together
with international and national partners will be implementing a Clean,
Affordable,
and Sustainable Energy for Southeast Asia (CASE) project from 2020 to
2024. CASE
project aims to create evidence and tools that support the energy
transition in
the region as well as to communicate these outputs to relevant
stakeholders and the general public to establish a public discourse
about energy transition
challenges and benefits.
Communication
plays an important role in delivering messages and ideas coming from
various
studies, research findings, and other sources to targeted stakeholders
and the public in general about energy transition in the context of
Indonesia.
About the Position
IESR is looking
for a Strategic Communication Specialist.
The person in this position will lead the implementation of CASE
Project’s communication and engagement strategy to meet the outcome of the
project.
The person is responsible for developing and strategic communication plans
both conventional and digital and implementing these plans, managing press and
media, develop social media content and oversees the production of a range of
communications materials of the project to reach out targeted stakeholders, and
identify energy and non-energy stakeholders and design outreach strategy for
the project, as part communication efforts.
IESR is seeking a
highly motivated, experienced and qualified candidate to join our dynamics
team.
The key roles and responsibilities
·
Research and assess targeted
project stakeholders.
·
Develop, implement, and
evaluate communication strategies for external communication and for stakeholder
engagement.
·
Develop, manage, and elaborate
social media strategies and activities across communication channels, including
websites.
·
Plan and conduct awareness
raising campaigns through communication platforms and channels.
·
Build communication
partnerships and media alliances.
·
Co-create and oversee media and
public-oriented communication products (press release, media advisories, social
media content, photo, video, infographics, fact sheet, etc.) to target
audiences in accordance with latest communication techniques, including data
visualization, and new media trends.
·
Monitor issues in the
media-spaces and evaluate the result of communication’s product and strategy.
·
Translate and adapt input
materials (study, research, and findings, etc.) for communication material.
·
Coordinate with project
partners’ communication team.
·
Provide advice to Project
Manager and Executive Director on media strategy, messages for external
communication.
·
Support the project and act as
facilitator or moderator of public events, workshop, media gathering, including
development of related communication material for those events.
Qualification
•
Has a strong communication
background with previous experience in communication and stakeholder engagement within an organization (public/private/NGOs).
•
Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding
on public engagement, communication strategy and tools, and communication
techniques both conventional and digital.
•
Demonstrate ability to craft
relevant messages for different audiences.
•
Proven skills in managing and
operating social media and websites.
•
Proven skill in developing
digital communication products.
•
Proven skill in writing.
•
Insightful and ability to think
innovatively and strategically in advancing communication of project’s ideas
and outputs.
•
Take charge of self-development
and take initiative.
•
Demonstrate ability to work in a team and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
•
Indonesian nationality.
Required skill and experiences
•
A minimum of 5 years
professional experience in the communication field.
•
Excellent written skill, and
proficiency in Indonesia and English.
•
Good IT skills, MS Office, possess
skill on graphic design software or communication software related tools is an
advantage.
•
Experience in digital media
production.
•
Excellent skill in public
campaigns.
•
University graduate, advanced
degree in communication, public relations, or any related fields is an
advantage.
•
Familiar with energy issues is
an advantage.
Starting Date
Expected start
in early August 2020, with 3 months’ probation.
Salary
This position is a mid-level position. The salary starts at 9 to 12 million per month plus benefits
that will be commensurate with the candidate's qualification and experiences.
