Waliku Indonesia Management Consultant
ROLE PURPOSE:
Waliku
is an innovation project of Save the Children implemented on a pilot
scale in Sumba Barat, Indonesia, since 2018. Waliku includes a suite of
digital tools and an implementation
system to ensure teachers and other student caretakers recognize and
address gaps in student attendance and well-being in a timely manner. It
facilitates communication and coordination between children’s families
and their schools as well as between schools
and local stakeholders in student wellbeing, including district
officials and child health and welfare services. Waliku assists
communities to meet children’s right to education, well-being and
achieving their fullest potential.
After
two years of pilot, Waliku is transitioning its operating model to
become a Save the Children social venture. We are transforming from a
project that relies on donor funding to
an enterprise with governments, NGOs, institutions and corporations as
customers for the Waliku solution and meeting our collective priority
for children’s wellbeing.
COVID-19-related
school closures have caused significant education disruption,
particularly for those already-marginalized students. As schools reopen,
there is a need for
digitized systems that allow schools to recognize and support families
whose children are experiencing critical absences and link effectively
with other service providers in the community. Waliku is therefore
optimizing and scaling its solution to meet this
need, initially in Sumba Barat, followed by other locations within
Indonesia and elsewhere.
Through
this paradigm shift in Waliku’s operating model, and onto optimizing
and scaling our solution, we seek an Indonesian team lead with relevant
experience to engage with governments,
NGOs and private entities our solution for different customer segments,
while managing a field team/s to ensure the delivery of a high-quality
solution. S/he will help define Waliku’s product and services for
different customer segments and with field team/s
develop and implementation plans for each location. While doing this,
s/he will ensure child-safeguarding policies; and financial and
administrative management adhere to Save the Children’s policies and
good practices. S/he will provide thought leadership
and make strategic decisions on Waliku for Indonesia, in close
coordination with the Waliku Global Team, and Save the Children
Indonesia Senior Management. S/he will engage with local and national
government to ensure that Waliku is meeting their needs and
requirements and at the same time fulfilling its goals for children.
S/he will also work with the Waliku Global Team and SC Indonesia NBD
Team to fundraise for Waliku’s scale-up in Indonesia.
