KOMPAK Program

KOMPAK is an Australia-Indonesia government partnership supporting the Government of Indonesia's efforts in reducing poverty through improvements in basic service delivery and creating opportunities for work. KOMPAK focuses its efforts on three result areas:

1. Supporting Local Governments and Service Units to better address the needs of basic service users;
2. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from improved village governance; and
3. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from increased opportunities for employment and economic development.

 

The Opportunity

The Economic Inclusion Specialist will support KOMPAK in integrating a gender-sensitive and inclusive approach in the market linkage flagship that KOMPAK is developing together with Bappenas and local governments. In the process, the Economic Inclusion Specialist will work with an Economic Inclusion Advisor based on the direction of the GESI manager, as well as coordinate with members of the GESI team at KOMPAK.

This assignment includes developing plan and providing technical assistance based on the results of the analysis of the studies conducted. The development of the study plan includes a frame of reference containing the design, data collection methodology and analysis; module development, other knowledge products; and dissemination to the KOMPAK internal team and relevant stakeholders.

 

Key Duties

• Involved in the implementation of analysis related to GESI mainstreaming in the market linkage flagship.
• Involved in the process of developing concepts, methodologies, data collection instruments and other details for this analytical work.
• Involved in the process of preparation, primary (distance interview) and secondary data collection, as well as analysis of the data collected according to the agreed time frame
• Involved in the process of writing analysis reports and other relevant knowledge products
• Contribute to the development of presentation materials and activities to disseminate design and analysis results to relevant stakeholders through the media and methods agreed with the KOMPAK team.
• Coordinate with the members of the study team, the GESI and Local Economic Development (LED) teams, and other relevant teams in all stages of the implementation of the study and technical assistance to the LED team
• Providing input on analysis and implementation documents related to GESI programs and other relevant issues as needed

 

Key Requirements

• S1 Economic, Social, Political or other relevant fields
• At least 5 years of experience in conducting qualitative studies related to issues of economic empowerment in development in Indonesia. Experience leading a research team in a team will be a plus
• Experience in carrying out studies related to issues of gender equality and social inclusion, particularly on issues of local economic development
• Having experience and skills in collecting data through in-depth interviews with community members and government
• Proven experience in writing study reports and/or policy notes by attaching two written evidence in Indonesian and/or English
• Have a good understanding of issues of gender equality and social inclusion
