Assistant Project Officer

TFO Canada seeks an individual to serve as an ASSISTANT PROJECT OFFICER on a trade facilitation project in Indonesia that TFO Canada is implementing on behalf of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation (GATF).   The objective of the trade facilitation project is improving risk management in the import control and inspection system for fish and fishery products by the Fish Quarantine and Inspection Agency (FQIA) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) of Indonesia. It is expected that the proposed project will reduce time and costs of importing fish products because of improved risk management of control systems and import inspections. It is also expected the project will improve effectiveness of control systems and import inspections by incorporating appropriate Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) and Bio Security/Fish Disease (BS/FD) measures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Coordinator/Project Officer (based in Jakarta, Indonesia), the ASSISTANT PROJECT OFFICER will be responsible for supporting the Associate/Project Manager, the Coordinator/Project Officer (both based in Indonesia) and the Canada based project management team in facilitating the project activities in Indonesia which includes, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Providing logistics, procurement and event arrangement and management for the project activities (technical assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation and gender assessment activities in Indonesia, training and awareness raising events, study visits, audit visits )
  • Preparing travel advance requests and settlements,  take quotations,  and  finalize service agreements as
  • Ensuring proper paper and electronic recording and filling of program related documents and
  • Helping with the compilation of project reports including data collection and preliminary
  • Helping record and synthetize results and lessons learned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 05 years of relevant work experience in trade facilitation, trade promotion or related trade and development projects in Indonesia
  • Excellent communication (reading, writing, speaking) skills in English and Bahasa
  • Excellent understanding of Indonesian work culture
  • Good computer applications skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication skills (Zoom, MS Teams, Google classroom, WhatsApp, Google drive )
  • Strong willingness and ability of working across several time zones (Indonesia, Canada, Europe, )
  • Excellent problem solving and people management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team in-person and remotely

LEVEL OF EFFORT

TFO Canada’s compensation for the ASSISTANT PROJECT OFFICER will be based on 08 hours per day with a maximum of 256 days as shown in the table below:
