Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial is an Indonesian
organization affiliated with Hivos, born out of an active collaboration
between Netherlands based Hivos and several like-minded Indonesian
academics and civil society leaders who subscribe to the values and
mission of Hivos. The purpose is to promote humanist values in the
social, health, and cultural fields which is defined in terms of the
ability for each individual to assess and decide independently and
responsibly, the right to freedom, dignity and a passion to create a
just and tolerant society.
Yayasan Humanis seeks qualified candidates for the position of:
Title : Communication Strategy and Brand Communication Consultant

Duration : Two months between April to July 2022
1. BACKGROUND
Yayasan
Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial/ Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation
(hereinafter: Yayasan Hivos) is an Indonesian organization, born out of
an active collaboration between Netherlands-based Hivos and several
like-minded Indonesian academics and civil society leaders who subscribe
to the values and mission of Hivos. The agenda for such collaboration
was set in the context of Hivos’ desire to phase out its direct presence
in Southeast Asia by promoting sincere decentralization and local
ownership. As the name itself suggests, the purpose underpinning the
establishment of the new entity is to promote humanistic values in the
social, economic, health, and cultural fields which are defined in terms
of the ability of each individual to assess and decide independently
and responsibly, the right to freedom, dignity and a passion to create a
just and tolerant society.
Yayasan Hivos was
officially established in Indonesia in March 2021. The organization is
currently in the phase of developing its overall strategy along with
relevant guidelines and policies. In Southeast Asia, the organization
has multiple programs and projects ongoing, inheriting all Hivos’
programs and projects in four countries: Indonesia, Timor Leste, the
Philippines, and Myanmar.
Since it is a newly
established organization, Yayasan Hivos has been building its
communication strategy and brand guidelines. It consists of the
organization’s visual identity, communication tools, and other
communication foundations as an independent organization. Therefore, we
are currently looking for a Communication Strategy and Brand
Communication Specialist as a consultant (an individual or a team) to
help us in developing the communication strategy and brand communication
document.
2. OBJECTIVE
The
Communication Strategy and Brand Communication Consultant will support
Yayasan Hivos in developing communication and brand strategies for the
organization. In the course of its work and new establishment, Yayasan
Hivos needs to develop a document of communication strategy and brand
guidelines for a 5-period period which is from 2022 to 2026.
The
Communication Strategy and Brand Communication Consultant will look at
the whole communication dimension of the organization and then provide
the communication framework to which all the programs adhere to the
organization’s values, identity, thought leadership, standards, formats,
and tools for internal and external profiling and positioning. The
consultant will also analyze the communication aspects of the
organization work in terms of lobbying, advocating, designing
activities, and producing communication materials that are relevant to
the projects.
The overall tasks of the Communication Strategy and Brand Communication Consultant are as follows:
- To
gather and analyze basic information from the relevant internal teams
at Yayasan Hivos and develop the outline of the communication strategy
and brand guidelines
- To
facilitate Yayasan Hivos internal teams for discussions and if needed
workshops on the organization’s communication strategy and brand
communication development
- To develop a document of communication and brand strategy and guidelines for a period of 2022 to 2026
To
support all aspects of the work, the Consultant should be abreast of
developments in the region (new projects, programs, funds, newsworthy
information about programs, partners, social and political developments,
etc.
3. SCOPE OF WORK
The
scope of the Communication Strategy and Brand Communication
Consultant’s task is to work together with the organization’s internal
team to analyze the organization’s information. Subsequently, the
Consultant will develop strategies in terms of communication and brand
for the next five-year period.
4. DELIVERABLES
The Communication Strategy and Brand Communication Consultant shall provide:
- Preparation
and analysis of basic information from the relevant internal teams at
Yayasan Hivos and an outline of the communication and brand strategy and
guidelines
- Facilitation
of discussions and workshops for Yayasan Hivos internal teams
regarding the organization’s communication strategy and brand
communication development
- A document of communication and brand strategy and guidelines for Yayasan Hivos for a period of 2022 to 2026 for Yayasan Hivos
The document of communication strategy includes the following chapters but is not limited to:
a. Communications Strategy
- Analysis and ranking: Current situation; trends and developments; SWOT; key stakeholders
- Desired outcomes: Communication and Brand objectives; target audiences and expected results
- Strategy: Strategy choices; core messages; communication principles; requirements
- Action Plan: Activity plan for each target group; timeline; capacity plan, information dissemination; sustainability
- Evaluation: what to evaluate, indicators, evaluators, when and where to evaluate
b. Communication activities and products for communication and visibility
- Communication activities and products
- Communication tools: branding, visual identity tools, and logo usage for all outputs
- Evaluation: methods, indicators, and roles of each organization
c. Brand communication
- Creation, development, and evaluation of marketing and brand communication strategy
- Concept and budgeting plan for the campaign plan
- Activation or execution and safeguarding plan
- Guidance on communication materials, templates, and visual designs for brand strategy
- Evaluation of result and recommendation
5. PERIOD OF WORK
The period of assignment shall be conducted within a timeframe of two months between April to July 2022.
6. QUALIFICATIONS
The Communication Consultant must comply with the following qualifications:
- Affinity for Yayasan Hivos’ vision and mission are driven by a strong motivation to contribute to real and lasting change.
- Master’s
degree or at least Bachelor's degree in Communication and Marketing,
Advertising/Media or equivalent, excellent knowledge of corporate
communication and branding, experience with communication strategy,
branding, marketing, content management systems
- Knowledge
of and experience in the field of international development cooperation
and excellent skills in the development and implementation of
communication strategies.
- Know how to reach target groups through innovative and conventional media.
- 5
years of working experience, in particular with communication strategy,
marketing, communication, media, corporate, and campaigning
- Excellent writing and organizational skills.
- Strong communicator in both English and Bahasa.
