BBC Media Action Vacancy: Freelancer Project Support (Based: Jakarta)

BBC Media Action is currently seeking:

 

Project Support Freelancer

 

Project Reports to Head of Projects

Based:                     Jakarta, Indonesia (with some travel when it is needed)

Duration:                 3 months (April - June, 2023) with possibility of extension

CONTRACT:           Local terms and conditions. Only eligible for Indonesian nationals or those legally able to work in Indonesia

 

 

Job Purpose

The need for a Project Support freelancer is to support the Project team in supporting the implementation of the project’s current needs. The Project Support freelancer’s required tasks in coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting. The freelancer will be reporting to the Head of Projects. The project is focusing on environmental issues (knowledge about climate change and indigenous communities is an advantage) and understanding the media landscape. In addition, the job requires an organised, structured person, with the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and kindness.

 

Main Objectives of freelancer:

·       Project implementation plans are tracked

·       Media partners coordination are participated actively as requested

·       Project division coordination are participated actively based on the needs

·       Due diligence process is made for external partners as requested

·       Fieldwork is conducted with a local partner in Jambi and North Kalimantan as requested

·       Reports are made as assigned by the Head of Projects

 

Criteria

·       At least 3-year experience in development, social and/or behaviour change communication and media.

·       Undergraduate/Master’s degree in general management, public policy, environmental sciences and policy, communication, or a related field

·       Demonstrated skills in project planning, project work plan development

·       Demonstrated experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and dynamic environment

·       Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia and the ability to negotiate tactfully and effectively

·       Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, planning and organisation, and task orientation

·       Ability to work on own initiative and organise time effectively within a range of often-conflicting deadlines. 

·       Capacity to juggle competing priorities and a busy programme of work while working toward an agreed strategy

·       Knowledge on climate change and indigenous communities Indonesia and globally is a bonus

 

 

Additional Requirement:

Due to the possibility of the freelancers’ interaction with vulnerable children and adults, police background check will be part of the screening process

 

Work Arrangement and Fee:

Max. 20 days in a month (@ 8 hours)

Daily fee: IDR 600,000 (tax excluded)

Will be registered for accidental insurance during the work period

Payment will be made by each of end month with supporting docs (invoice and timesheet)
