ChildFund
began working in Vietnam in 1995 and works in partnership to create
community and systems change which enables vulnerable children and young
people, in all their diversity, to assert and realise their rights.
Projects
are implemented in the northern provinces of Bac Kan, Cao Bang and Hoa
Binh, where most people are from ethnic minority groups; often the most
vulnerable or marginalised sections of the population.
ChildFund
Vietnam’s projects focus on child rights and child protection,
education, health, and wellbeing for children. ChildFund Vietnam also
prioritises building the resilience of young people, by giving them the
opportunity to take part in sports, life skills learning, and supporting
their participation in local decision-making processes.
SUMMARY
As
the Regional Coordinator (Online Safety,) you will be responsible for
coordinating efforts in advancing ChildFund’s flagship online safety
intervention “Swipe Safe” in implementing countries across the
Asia-Pacific. Your role will liaise closely with ChildFund Australia
Technical Advisors (TAs) to ensure the smooth rollout of Swipe Safe
across the region with ChildFund offices and with key project
stakeholders. You will report to the Senior Advisor, Child Protection
Team, ChildFund Australia.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate
(in conjunction with TAs) implementation of Swipe Safe (SS) as a common
flagship approach across multiple country locations.
• Train, coach and mentor new implementing partners and Country Offices.
• Support the contextualisation of SS approach for county specific iterations, including digitisation and digital products.
• Establish
and coordinate a cross-country community of practice for frontline
child protection workers and law enforcement to facilitate discussion.
• Seek funding opportunities for SS and contribute to the development of funding submissions.
• Represent
SS and ChildFund at interagency meetings and network in areas of online
safety as a key spokesperson in the organisation.
• Support ongoing project level M&E and data analysis of SS.
• Support
national and regional advocacy and the adoption of child-centred
indicators to inform policy/strategies to address OCSEA.
• Undertake
regular reviews to ensure the Swipe Safe package is based on current
best practice including disability and gender transformative
methodologies.
• Produce regional project reports in line with reporting framework.
• Promote and integrate gender equality, disability, and social inclusion into day-to-day work
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• University qualification in relevant field (e.g. Child
protection, social work, social policy, social sciences or community development)
• At least 3 years of experience implementing and managing donor-funded projects and programs in remote or rural areas;
• Experience
developing curriculum for adults and children, providing training on
internet usage and ability to apply appropriate pedagogical
methodologies.
• Proven experience in partnership management and training of trainer methodologies.
• Applied knowledge of ICT and literacy in digital equipment (smart phones, tablets, etc)
• Sound experience in organising and providing trainings and partner support both face-to-face and remotely
• Project evaluation, data collection and analysis
DESIRABLE
• Working knowledge of trends and best practice in online safety with children and young people
• Experience working in a child rights focused or international development agency.
• Direct experience implementing online safety projects in multiple locations.
• Demonstrated understanding of gender equality, disability, and social inclusion
