Qatar Charity is a Qatar-based NGO. Since the inception of its services in Indonesia in 2006, the Organization has been committed to assist the needy and less supported people all over Indonesia. The Organization is active in providing assistance in the following domains; Education & Cultural Support, Family, Women & Child care, Livelihoods & Income Generation, Water & Sanitation, Relief & Emergency Response and last but not least Seasonal Programs. After the tragedy tsunami disaster in 2004, Qatar Charity has made a considerable contribution to the efforts of reconstruction and rehabilitation in the affected areas.
Qatar Charity Indonesia (QCI) is currently seeking:
* Position: Project Development Officers
* Report to: Country Director
* Contract length: 01 year (Including 3 months probation period)
* Duty Station: Jakarta
Areas of responsibility
1. Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations;
2. Ensuring that project planning and reporting systems are in compliance with requirements of Qatar Charity;
3. Oversee and guide the work of the implementing partners;
4. Assist the Program Manager in examining project and partner strategies on technical issues to ensure that they are focused on the objectives and are feasible and effective;
5. Examine work plans and progress reports of contractors and provide feedback to the Program Manager on technical issues
6. Maintain updated background information on policy and practice relevant to Qatar Charity construction projects; the Project construction coordinator will maintain a database of institutions and individuals who have knowledge, skills and experience in QCI-related projects
7. Generate lessons from the project for project partners and the wider community interested in the issue
8. Make field visit for under construction projects and elaborate progress report
9. Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertaking risk management in specialist roles;
10. Managing, supervising and visiting contractors on site;
11. Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients;
12. Managing change, as the office may change the design, and identifying, formalizing and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project;
13. Compiling, checking and approving reports;
14. Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery;
15. Attending public meetings to discuss projects;
16. Adopting all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments;
17. Ensuring that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time;
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum qualification is bachelor degree.
* At least 02 years experience in initiating and coordinating Income generating activities projects preferably in the NGO sector; International experience will be an advantage.
* Ability to link with other players in the economic empowerment field and represent QC effectively
* Ability to travel extensively especially to remote areas
* Experience in and the ability to train people;
* Commitment to the aims and objectives of QC
Key Competencies required
* Excellent communication & capacity building skills
* Ability to work flexibly, & meet deadlines
* Fluent English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent writing and reporting ability.
* Good interpersonal skills to ensure effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners including governmental institutions.
* Strong analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills including use of essential computer software packages.
* The ability to meet deadlines, achieve results and work with minimal day to day supervision.
