CIDA - SILE/LLD Project – Project Officer - Makassar
The Supporting Islamic Leadership in Indonesia (SILE)/ Local Leadership for Development (LLD) Project, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and executed by a Canadian consultant firm, is to build the capacity of a) a selected State Islamic University (UIN)and a State Islamic Institute (IAIN) in their outreach functions with local communities, and b) the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) to effectively integrate democratic governance practices in their strategies, programs and budgets to support university-based outreach.
Reporting directly to the Canadian Team Leader (CTL) in Jakarta, the Project Officer based in Makassar will have as key responsibilities, in working closely with local partners and the university-based Project Implementation Committee (PIC) to:
· Keep in regular contact with the CTL and other key members of Project team
· Provide support for planning, implementation and monitoring Project activities and work in a supportive and facilitative mode with UIN-IAIN partners, CSOs and communities.
· Develop harmonious relationships, work and coordinate closely with the PIC Coordinator and Project team members and consultants on project components
· Assist, organize and follow-up on Results Based Management (RBM) application and base-line data collection proposing alternate performance indicators where appropriate
· Contribute to information gathering concerning strategies and plans for knowledge management, gender equality and sustainability
· Prepare monthly and quarterly activity reports, contribute to annual work plans and progress reviews as well as to financial reports
· Assist in planning, organizing and delivery of capacity development activities (work sessions, seminars, scholarships, internships, exposure visits)
· Provide assistance in identifying local consultants and drafting TORs for specific Project activities
· Contribute to the follow-up and monitoring of Project activities and particularly capacity development activities and document lessons learned and promote good practices.
Qualifications
· S2 in a field related to project management, local governance, adult education
· At least 10 years of work experience preferably in the higher education sector
· Experience with promoting democratic governance principles and practices is an asset
· Strong at building relationships and using facilitative approaches
· Good knowledge of Results Based Management (RBM) or a similar approach
· Mid to advanced level of spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, etc.) is an advantage
· Experience working in the context of donor-assisted projects and working with multidisciplinary and multinational teams
· Strong Indonesian language communication skills and a very good command of spoken and written English
