The British Council is looking for Indonesian national consultants for anticipated upcoming project funded by ADB: The School and Madrasah Principals and Supervisors Competencies Baseline Study.
Timeline (tentative) : October 2011 – September 2012.
The purpose of the School and Madrasah Principals and Supervisors Competencies Baselines Study is:
a.) to undertake a nationwide assessment of the competencies of school/madrasah principals based on a representative stratified sample as a basis for determining national policy and professional development programmes for Head of School/Madrasah in Kindergarten (TK/RA), primary (SD/MI), and vocational senior secondary (SMK)
b.) to undertake a nationwide assessment of the competencies of school/madrasah supervisors as a basis for determining national policy on the professional development programs for supervisors of School/Madrasah in Kindergarten (TK/RA), primary (SD/MI),junior secondary (SMP/MTs), general senior secondary (SMA/MA) and vocational senior secondary (SMK)
We anticipate the study will utilise both quantitative and qualitative approach.
The study will be implemented by consultancy team comprising the following personnel:

3 Statistician and data analyst STAT Very substantial experience of statistical research, from initial design, through implementation to analysis and interpretation, especially in the context of national-level studies 6
4 Psychologist PSY Expertise in the identification and design of procedures and instruments for the evaluation of personality, management skills, innovativeness, mentoring, leadership and social skills, preferably in the context of education 1
5 Professional development/stages of growth DEV Expertise and research experience in professional development and professional growth, ideally in the context of teaching, school leadership and school supervision 1
6 School leadership S-LEAD Expertise and experience in school and madrasah leadership and management; experience as a headteacher would be very useful; mentoring experience would be useful 1
7 School inspection S-INSP Expertise and experience in the inspection and supervision of schools and madrasahs; mentoring experience would be useful 1
8 Communications (esp. research) COMMS Specialist in communications with experience in communicating research results to stakeholders (including to the public) 2
