Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) is one of Germany’s longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB currently has a portfolio of over 100 projects in relief, rehabilitation and community based development. ASB entered Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established projects in emergency relief; reconstruction and training; information and outreach; disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors. ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and committed individuals to join its DRR programme:
Trainer
Location: Mentawai – West Sumatera
Duration: 12 months (subject to completion of probation period)
Summary of job profile/responsibilities: To deliver quality DRR training for schools. The trainer reports to the training coordinator and project manager.
Key requirements:
1. Previous training/teaching experience (including training of trainers approach)
2. Public speaking/presentation skills essential
3. A creative approach to training and problem solving
4. Knowledge of DRR
5. Excellent reporting skills required
6. Excellent communication and organizational skills
7. Excellent Bahasa Indonesia and good English language skills
8. Knowledge of local language is advantage
9. Experienceof working and coordinating with local government
10. Computer literate (minimum MS Office)
11. Able to multi-task and work to achieve deadlines
12. Able to work independently and under own initiative as well as within a team in a multicultural environment
13. Individuals with excellent motivation, but no previous NGO experience will be considered
