School Partnership Liaison Officer

The Sampoerna School of Education (SSE) is an initiative of the Putera Sampoerna Foundation which contributes to its mission of developing future leaders through education for Indonesia to meet the challenges living in a more and more complex and demanding multi-modal world. SSE strives to attract the sharpest minds from across the entire archipelago and aims to establish a new benchmark as an international standard teacher education institution which is able to meet present demands and to anticipate and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow.

Founded in 2010, the Centre for Research, Development and Engagement (CRDE) draws on a broad range of educational experience at SSE to engage in innovative research, developmental and community programming on critical educational issues in the Indonesian context. The CRDE also inputs on the strategic management of an ever-increasing number of SSE school partners. Partner schools host SSE student teachers as part of their field training and SSE reciprocates to partner schools by providing a range of professional development opportunities. SSE currently has 28 partner schools in its network (public & private, national plus and others from SD-SMA), and will likely expand to approximately 40 in 2012. In order to deepen the quality of the relationship between SSE and partner schools and to add-value for each of the partners in this network, SSE is for a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as:

Position: School Partnership Liaison Officer
Section: Centre for Research, Development, and Engagement (CRDE)
Location: Based in Jakarta with frequent travel

Responsibilities:
• Act as an intermediary between School Partnership Coordinator and SSE partner schools.
• Conduct regular site visits to SSE partner schools and provide managerial, financial and clerical support for the smooth functioning of the school partnerships and school experience programs.
• Help consolidate planning, budgeting, and reporting processes of the school partnership and school experience program.
• Liaise with SSE partner schools to ensure that the annual professional development programming provided by SSE is demand-driven and results-orientated.
• Conduct regular annual surveys and review workshops with SSE partner schools to identify schools' level of satisfaction in participating in the school partnership program and ideas on how to improve the program. The School Partnership Liaison Office should endeavor, in partnership with the School Partnerships Coordinator, to take corrective actions and improve programming where needed to improve school satisfaction ratings.

Requirements:
• Indonesian National
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of education
• Bachelor's Degree in Education
• Have knowledge and exposure on the latest teaching and learning methods.
• Experience in communication and negotiation with Government departments and agencies, and schools.
• Have good interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, a good understanding of educational issues in the Indonesian context.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team
• Solid computer literacy skill in MS Office.
• Excellent English skills, both spoken and written (preferably)
