SNV-VACANCY: SENIOR NATIONAL ADVISOR REDD+
Background
SNV is an international not-for-profit
development organization that works in 36 of the less developed countries
around the world covering water and sanitation, agriculture, renewable energy
and REDD+. To guide its activities in Indonesia, SNV has commissioned a
report and undertaken a scoping mission in order to better understand the
current REDD+ landscape and to meet stakeholders to identify potential needs.
SNV is now looking to move into its implementation phase and is seeking a
Senior Advisor to support development of SNV REDD+ activities in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
· Further
develop strategy and activities around SNV REDD priority interventions areas;
in particular REDD+ and Low Emissions
Development Plans; REDD+ and Agriculture;
and REDD+ and Renewable Energy;
· Develop
a detailed work plan and undertake activities jointly agreed with SNV REDD+
Global Coordinator;
· Act
as contact person for SNV on REDD+ in Indonesia and raise the profile of
SNV’s work on REDD+
· Support
the SNV REDD+ Global Coordinator in putting together bids including calls from
the DFID Framework contract
· Support
the implementation of REDD+ projects as they come on steam
· Provide
input into the development of the Indonesia National REDD+ Program and
Provincial REDD+ Programs where relevant; respond to requests from the
Government;
· Provide
follow up assessments and information gathering on priority REDD+ activities in
pilot sites; carry out regular site visits;
· Build
close relations with Government counterparts, national and sub national
institutes, universities, companies and NGOs
· Support
production of SNV REDD+ publication materials for Indonesia and hold knowledge
sharing events
Candidate Profile
· Degree in Forestry, Agriculture or natural
resource management
· At least 10 year experience of working on
forestry issues in Indonesia
· Demonstrated technical ability in the area of
REDD+, Forestry and Planning and Agriculture
· Ability to work independently
Duty Station: Jakarta with travel to other provinces.
Please note that the successful candidate needs to be based in Jakarta on a permanent basis.
Contract Duration: A one-year associate advisor contract
with possibility of extension will be offered to the successful candidate
through SNV’s Vietnam
office.
