Call for Accountant Position in the School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) Jakarta
The
School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) will open in August 2013
in Jakarta, Indonesia. It will offer a one-year Master of Public Policy
designed for young professionals in their late twenties or early
thirties.
The mission of SGPP Indonesia is to address the growing
need for a new brand of policy-makers and public leaders for Indonesia
and the neighboring regions of Asia Pacific. The School will offer
cutting edge courses on the theory and practice of policy-making, taught
by an international faculty from the US, Europe and Southeast Asia.
Currently SGPP is looking for a person to fill up the accountant
vacancy.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up the Accounting Cycle for SGPP. The basic accounting cycle includes:
Recording
transactions. Including cash-receipt journals or cash-disbursement
journals. Prepare an up-to-date general ledger shows current information
about accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounts,
adjusting entries, to match endowment with expenses within each
accounting period.Closing the books. After all endowment and
expenses are accounted for, any net surplus and deficit gets posted in
the account. Surplus/deficit and expense accounts are always brought to a
zero balance before a new accounting cycle begins.Preparing
financial statements. At the end of a period, SGPP accountant need to
prepare financial reports —balance sheets, cash-flow statements and
other reports — that summarize all of the financial activity for that
period.Tax Report. Prepare complete financial document for monthly and yearly Tax Reporting purposes
2. Payroll Administration
Calculate and report gross earnings of SGPP personnel based on
detailed private information in personnel files and earnings-to-date
information, the correct amounts of income tax, social security tax, and
determine other deductions from gross wages. Prepares
all checks for the signatures of people who are authorized to sign
checks. SGPP accountant keeps all the supporting documents and files to
know when the checks should be paid, makes sure that the amount to be
paid is correct, and forward the checks for signature.
3.Procurement and Inventory
SGPP accountant is responsible for keeping track of all
purchase orders that have been placed and all other assets and services
purchased by SGPP.Records, update, and calculate maintenance cost of SGPP fixed and variable assetsManage and records Patty Cash expenses
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in accounting and/or financeAt least 5 years of experience is required for this position.Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.Experience in education institutions is desirable and will be a plusEnglish Fluency (oral and written) is a must
