Vacancies -IC/UNDP/CPRU/129/2013 - Consultant for the Improved Risk Assessment Methodology with inclusion of Climate Related Factors- open until 19 Sept 2013

UNDP Indonesia, under SCDRR phase II project hereby invites you to submit a
proposal for Consultant for the Improved Risk Assessment Methodology with inclusion of Climate Related Factors, with detail assignments below:


 Objectives of Assignment
The
objective of this assignment is to support the improvement of risk assessment
methodology with climate related factors.  Under direct supervision of NPM SCDRR Phase II and  guidance from BNPB, the consultant will work
together as a team with
the Directorate of Disaster Risk Reduction BNPB.

Scope of work
In close consultation with BNPB and
close coordination with  CPRU,  the consultant will perform the duties with
detailed scope of work as follow:
1.      To conduct the desk study review the current risk
assessment methodology and other related studies of hazard assessments and
climate issues;
2.      To manage and organize the workshops, focus group
discussions and consultations with related line ministries, academia, experts
and other stakeholders enabling to get inputs for the improvement of the risk
assessment methodology;
3.      To improve the risk assessment guideline, which
integrates the climate related factors with detailed steps of the assessment. ;
4.      To undertake the try-out of the risk improvement
methodology with take into consideration the climate related factors.

Requirements
·        Knowledge of Indonesian disaster
management related bill such as Law No. 24/ 2007, Law No. 25/2007, and Law
No.26/2007
·        Knowledge on Hazard, Vulnerability,
and Risk mapping concept;
·        Excellent writing and communication
skills in English and Indonesian;
·        Self-motivated, ability to work with
minimum supervision; and
·        Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, team oriented work style, interest and experience of
working in multi-cultural environment.

Recruitment Qualifications
·    Education:Minimum aBachelor degree
in Engineering, Spatial Planning,  Information Management System, Geophysics, or
related fields
·        Experience: minimum of 3 years working experience related to  disaster management and disaster risk
reduction;
·        Language: Proficient in English language, spoken and written. Ability
to write reports, make presentation, provide discussion
