II.
Organizational Context and Scope
| |
|
Established in 1951,
IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration
and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental
partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the
benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments
and migrants.
I-Care (IOM Circle
of Care for Displaced Persons in Indonesia) Project
is an 18-months project, focused on designing and delivering care services
for about 3,000 displaced persons in Indonesia. I-Care’s main activity sets
as the following : (a) vulnerability mapping of target groups; (b)
training/coordinating NGO I-Care service providers; (c) deliver of targeted
I-Care services to target groups; in the areas of : (1) life-skills
development; (2) social support; and (3) educational support – in no less
than 10 project locations nationwide.
Under
the direct supervision of the Head of
Sub-Office (Medan/Makassar/Surabaya) for administrative matters, with
functional and programmatic guidance of the Regional ICARE Coordinator and
I-Care Project Manager, and overall oversight of the Deputy Chief of Mission,
the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that
all I-Care services are carried out in a coordinated and timely manner, in
their respective regions of assignment.

III.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
| |
|
1. Support the
Regional ICARE Coordinator in relevant government liaison activities in the
following regions/attendant site coverage:
Medan, Makassar, Surabaya for coordination of migrant
psychosocial activities.
2. Assist the
Regional ICARE Coordinator in tracking cases of migrants needing special
care;
3. Provide
assistance in inputing regional care
assessment data/findings, as directed by the Regional ICare Coordinator.
4. Provide
assistance in identifying NGOs in
respective areas of assignment, and categorize NGOs based on NGO locations
and services.
5. Report to
the Regional ICARE Coordinator - on site issues and project implementation
updates,
6. Provide
assistance in compiling and analysing quantitative
and qualitative data pertinent to care services and service outcomes – for
submission to the Regional ICARE Coordinator.
7. In the
absence of Regional ICARE Coordinator, perform the duties of Regional ICARE
Coordinator, as requested.
8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Technical

a) Knowledge
of social work value and ethics, theory and established practices of clinical
social work, including assessment, treatment and crisis intervention skills
b) Understanding
of the social determinants of health, and the social consequences of lack
thereof ; family systems and family dynamics
c) Understanding
of diversity as it affects different populations and service delivery,
including, but not limited to, gender, sexual identity, culture, ethnic,
spirituality and racial issues
d) understanding
classification of psychiatric illnesses and. the main classifications of
psychotropic medications, including their general use, expected response, and
common side effects would be an advantage
e) Effectively applies knowledge of psychosocial issues in execution of
responsibilities at appropriate level
f) Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work
g) Proven ability and experience in liaising with UN, Government
Departments/Authorities and other international organizations;
h) ability to
operate software packages required for effective information management,
including word processing, and ability to use the internet to find resources
and access evidence-based practice research

V.
Education and Experience
| |
|
a) Indonesian
National
with
good knowledge of, and experience in project implementation and operational.
b)
University degree in
psychology, social work, or any social science.
c)
At least five years of related
working experience in community based programmes or camp settings.
d) Experience in provision of community based training activities

VI.
Languages
| |
|
Language: Thorough
knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia
| |
