Ipas is a global nongovernmental
organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from
unsafe abortion. Abiding to the local regulations in each country, Ipas works
to ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive reproductive
health care, including comprehensive post abortion care with counseling and
contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.
We are currently seeking qualified
candidates for the position of Research and Evaluation (R&E) Officer. Position is open for
Indonesian nationality only.
Under the direct supervision of R&E
Advisor, the Research and Evaluation (R&E)
Officer supports implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
processes (data collection, data management and documentation, updating Ipas
database and results reporting) of Ipas program in Indonesia. This position
contributes to ensuring the appropriate measurement of results of different
projects and for generating indicators that correspond to the different Ipas
Indonesia interventions. Additionally,
this position ensures data quality by overseeing the completion and
verification of data and conducting appropriate statistical analysis. The
R&E officer also supports the preparation of accurate donor and government
reports by ensuring data are collected, entered, and cleaned properly.
This
is a fulltime time staff position based in Jakarta, Indonesia and is available
immediately.
Responsibilities
·
Enter
M&E related data on women served, trained providers, intervention sites and
other program activities into the appropriate data management systems in a
timely manner
·
Ensures
that data is collected, analyzed and incorporated into Ipas data management
systems on a monthly basis
·
Reviews
and cleans monthly facility data to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
before and after entries are done in the required software
·
Perform
analysis and management of quantitative data sets for research, monitoring and
evaluation as needed
·
Conducts
site visits to validate collected data, monitors data entry at the site level,
and corrects errors made by providers as they enter data
·
Coordinates
with in-country team members to validate results in donor reports and supports
R&E Advisor in writing and validating report narratives
·
Train
staff and consultants in M&E data collection and processing
·
Prepare
tables, charts and figures for internal and external publications
·
Draft
documents prepared for internal and external use
·
Support
the R&E Advisor in all aspects of research projects, including protocol and
data collection tool development, data analysis and interpretation and
dissemination
·
Prepare
literature searches and bibliographies
·
Provide
administrative support as needed
·
Carry
out other tasks to support Ipas’s R&E efforts
·
Performing
all duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
· Bachelor degree in social science or public
health
· 3-5 years of experience in research and
evaluation of health programs in Indonesia
· Experience with statistical analysis computer
packages (e.g., STATA, SPSS, SAS, EpiInfo)
· Experience with word processing (Word),
spreadsheets (Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint)
· Experience working with databases; experience
with relational databases preferred but not required
· Strong verbal and written communication
skills in English
· Well-organized, with ability to track
multiple projects and deadlines
· Experience in providing administrative
support to work teams
· Ability and willingness to travel
domestically and regionally, up to 35% of working days per year
· A limited amount of international travel is
required
· Ability to work successfully in a
cross-cultural, team-based, global environment
