GIZ REEP - Consultancy for Senior Expert Grid-Integration

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organisation which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We work to shape a future worth living in over 120 countries around the world. For more than 40 years, GIZ has been working jointly with partners in Indonesia.

Project 1000 Islands – Renewable Energy for Electrification program – REEP work closely to Indonesia electricity sector, especially in local electricity grids on islands . The Indonesian electricity sector is not only experiencing steadily rising demand (7 per cent per year) but is also grappling with a low electrification rate, frequent power failures, extensive use of conventional fuels for electricity generation, heavy dependence on oil imports, and limited involvement of private-sector stakeholders in power production. As a country of numerous islands, many parts of Indonesia are either entirely without electricity or else reliant on local electricity grids. These grids are not interconnected and are usually fed by expensive-to-run diesel generators. In such situations, renewable energies (RE) are a cost-effective alternative.
GIZ seeks for the following consultant for the project ‘1000 Islands – Renewable Energy for Electrification program – REEP’:
